Championshiporbust
It was the Yankees' year before the strike....
hrubes20
Certainly possible, but the Expos were the team to beat that year.
redsoxsuck05
This convo always ends with the Expos being crowned as automatic WS champs as the best team ever even tho this was the first year of the wild card and they were certainly not head and shoulders above the Yankees, White Sox, Braves, etc.
redsoxsuck05
I'm being hyperbolic, but that Expos team has a bit of a mystique around it due to a multitude of reasons.

They were a really, really good team.
JetsandI
I would love to say Yankees but Buck Showalter's managing skill for post season had left something to be desired.
MWil23
That '94 race was going to be special. The Tribe was legit with Albert Belle and company on a terror, as were the White Sox with Big Hurt in his prime (MVP), the Reds were in first in their division, and the Expos were unbelievably LOADED. Individually, there were some travesties: *Tony Gwynn hitting .394 remains one of the most tragic things in baseball recent history *Matt Williams, Griffey, and Bagwell (MVP) with 43/40/39 HR would have been super interesting from a record breaking standpoint at the time. (Skinny Barry hit 37 for those of you haters out there)
