It sounds a bit like desperation, considering Scoundrel isn't even voting squire right now, yet "wants to stop" and therefore "wants squire out". If he is scum, he knows I can take over for him as he would know if I am scum with him. scum taking over for any player would be scum replacing scum. scum can't replace town If he is town (which i believe he is) and he is reading me as town (which is true) then I can take over for him since town can replace town.
