You know what's really funny? The Patriots getting thoroughly outplayed in the joint practices we had.

Your coaches had to move your team out of 11 on 11s into 7 on 7s cause our DL was making life hell on your QBs and even in 7 on 7s Newton was getting trolled for just checking down with no pass rush.

congrats?

Next we'll celebrate your glorious 6 or 7 win season this year. You are playing yourself.

He's 6'1" 220 and averaged 12 carries per game in his 4 starts last season. If you project that over the course of a 17 game season that's over 200 carries. He was also sacked 10 times in those 4 games, which projects to around 35 sacks. So he's on pace to be hit like 250 times as a smaller QB. How often have running QB's stayed healthy in the NFL? And even if he is healthy haven't the reports from camp been pretty meh? He struggled big time down the stretch last season. So as I said, I'd bet a significant amount of money that Flacco is playing for you at QB at some point this season.

He's listed at 223. That's small for a QB? lol

Not too worried about this dude being too small. Was squatting 600 in college.

on a football forum in mid-august? dont think it was avoidable

He's right though, no chance Hurts doesn't start all 17 games this year. I mean QB's that complete under 60% of their passes and get hit a ton usually kill it in the NFL. Wonder why the Eagles were discussing a potential Watson trade?

Is it really a pointless discussion to point out that if Flacco has to start games the Eagles offense will be almost completely different then what it will be with Hurts?

Yes cause coaches switch the offense up all the time to fit the back-up. It's part of being a coach.

Our offense wouldn't look the similar to what it does with Hurts with Brissett back there.

Pretty hard to say what Hurts is or isn't. He has a new coach, new offense, his OL will at least start healthy which is much better than the multiple second and third stringers he had last season. Will he run? Yes. But we have no clue how much.

Basically everything you just said has nothing to do with what will happen this year, and your prediction is based off pure conjecture. Flacco might play, he might not. Too early to say.

There's a reason the Ravens have had RG3 as their backup QB the last couple of seasons. So if Lamar got hurt they wouldn't have to completely change the scheme from an RPO system that's built around a mobile QB to one that's built for a pocket passer taking 5-7 step drops.

Have you ever even seen Brissett play? He's definitely more capable of running a shot gun, RPO style offense than 36 year old Joe Flacco.

A backup in 2020, Brissett executed a critical role as a short-yardage rusher in addition to his duties as the backup quarterback. He rushed the ball 17 times last year, converting 12 of those into touchdowns (3) or first downs (9).

Why are you comparing the Ravens to the Eagles? Do you know what scheme the Eagles plan on running better than the rest of us? There has been zero reports from camp that the Eagles are doing different things with Hurts and Flacco.

Please enlighten us.

Hurts wasn't very good at Alabama, was okay at Oklahoma, and pretty damn bad last season down the stretch. We'll see how it translates in your new offense but the fact you guys have consistently been linked to Deshaun Watson and your head coach won't even officially name him the starting quarterback definitely says a lot.

My entire point was that if Hurts is at QB or Flacco is at QB you're basically going to be running a completely different offense.

Have you watched Jalen Hurts play football? Would assume the offense will be more shot gun/rpo based then a traditional offense considering what he showed at Alabama, Oklahoma, and in limited time as a rookie. But you're probably right and that's why your head coach won't say if he's the starter over Flacco yet, gotta see who's better.

Ok... you think Hurts will be bad. That has nothing to do with what I said. I am not some massive Hurts fan by any means, but I won't write him off completely before he gets a full season to start. The fact that he wasn't named a starter literally means nothing lol. He is going to start, he has gotten every single first team rep in practice. It's an empty talking point that means absolutely nothing. Sirianni is trying to promote competition throughout the entire team, that is all it is. The Deshaun stuff could be anything, no trade has happened so it is a massive nothing burger atm.

Ok, so.... your guessing. Which is exactly what my point is. You don't know, maybe stop talking like you do.

Brissett has mobility, but quarterback reads and RPOs were just one facet of the system Reich and Sirianni included for him. The reasons for his struggles in 2019 were manifold, but his limitations as a thrower were the most prominent.

Hurts completed just 52% of his passes in his rookie season. He will need to improve his repetitive accuracy -- perhaps the most important trait for an NFL quarterback. No matter how much Sirianni caters his scheme to Hurts, there are certain downfield throws he will need to make if he is to thrive.

Despite a narrative from some corners that the Eagles haven’t shown enough of a commitment to the former second-round draft pick, the team’s offseason moves at quarterback -- or lack thereof -- said plenty. Hurts will be the No. 1, free-agent veteran Joe Flacco will be the No. 2, and beyond this season is yet to be determined.
