Anyone watch the combine?

He is not a ILB.  He is a blitzing LB

Right now, yeah. I think he could see time his rookie year as a blitzer/downhill attacker. But I think his future a brighter than that. He’s got size, athleticism, and he’s only 21. If he puts in the work to fix his flaws, he’s got the makeup to be a real stud. I don’t want him anywhere near the 1st, even after the combine. The ILB class has some interesting guys. If he slid to us in the 3rd, I’d be ecstatic.

I think Stingley could drop.  I would be worried about the Lisfranc.  Some athletes never recover from that.  It is quite serious for WR and DBs

I honestly wouldn't risk it. Isn't that what Senquez Golson injured? He never played a snap for the Steelers. He was one of my favorite CB prospects ever.

Kinda. Shoulder year one, Lisfranc year two, soft tissue year three and cut. Then was on some PS.

Stingley is a no brainer at 20 as long as his medicals check out IMO.

I disagree.

If he drops, there is good reason.

Beyond that, we have absolutely sucked drafting and developing DBs.    Not sure I ever wanna see us draft a DB early ever again unless its a Jalen Ramsey caliber prospect.

I think that’s the reason you do draft him. Stingley is not Artie Burns or Justin Layne. We have not had the opportunity to draft a talent like Stingley at CB. His 2019 tape is Jalen Ramsey caliber.

It's been 6 months and he's still recovering from a Lisfranc injury. That injury is a career killer for athletes especially skill position guys.

So over 2 years ago he had one elite season, and we are supposed to trust that he is going to recover from a very serious injury and return to that form?

Someone will take that leap.    I wouldn't.   Not in rd 1 anyway.

I know they aren’t identical situations but the Bengals drafted Jamarr Chase who had one elite season and hadn’t played in two years and it worked out for them 🤷🏼. There’s tape of Stingley absolutely shutting Chase down in practice that year too (yes, I know Chase wasn’t coming off injury that’s why he still went 5th overall).

I prefaced my original comment with “if his medicals check out”. If there’s serious doubt he’ll recover from his injury that changes everything. People recover from serious injuries all the time though.

DB is a much tougher and more unstable position thats harder to be consistently good at.

Im not saying Stingley cant be great again, but Im not relying on one year, 2 years ago after a major injury to convince me he is with a first round pick.

Players have dropped out of the first round for less.
