AFlaccoSeagulls
Good signing. Hurst is an upgrade from Uzomah and he can be a high-end TE2
Soko
I thought he’d go back to Baltimore, tbh. Solid get for Cincy, if it’s for a modest contract.
Forge
Really solid move by Cincy. Let CJ get overpaid by the Jets and sign Hurst who is basically a true one for one replacement. That's efficient.
Johnny Nix
I like the move. Most likely see us draft a TE in the 3rd or 4th rounds.
TheKillerNacho
dude was laughably bad for Atlanta last year. every time he came out onto the field, it seems that he was guilty of some sort of blunder.
Johnny Nix
1 year for 3.5 million. Very nice prove it deal. I don’t expect much of a drop off in production from Uzomah to Hurst.

The Jets have A++ cap flexibility especially come next years 2023 Offseason. C.J. Uzomah is signed to a very team friendly contract here with the Jets. His potential chances of hurting our salary cap space long (or short) term = 0.00% chance. None of this means it's not an overpay

THE DUKE
16 minutes ago, renndawg37 said: Definitely arguable. Uzomah's career year last year was all of 493 yards and 5 TD's in 16 starts. I won't be shocked if Hurst out performs that this year as the primary pass catching TE. Hurst will split time with Drew Sample when an in line run blocker is wanted, whereas Uzomah was pretty well rounded, but at less than half the cost to focus money on the oline, dline, and secondary, makes a lot of sense for the Bengals. Much harder to replace will be Uzomah's locker room presence, but it's a pretty good room already. Uzomah also got a ton of pub because he was fantastic with the press. Tugboat
After all the endless nauseating talk at the draft, and all the talk about a trade from the Ravens...i'm kind of surprised he didn't just end up in Jacksonville after all. Turns out, not all players or teams are mutually interested just because they have a local area connection in common. Go figure...?
