Smith, Henry, Njoku, Knox just like $2M lower feel like bad value deals, even if they aren't bad players. I'm almost not sure I'd want to engage in the TE market at all if it wasn't for a top guy or a vet min.
BayRaider
I loved Knox in the draft. While a lot of “experts” think he will regress this year since he was TD dependent last year, I do not think so. I think he will be a focal point of the Bills offense. Maybe go for 650 and 8 TD’s. HerbertGOAT
I like Dawson Knox. Unfortunately, the TE market is broken so he's overpaid. I'd gladly give him that money over a guy like Jonnu Smith, Njoku, Hunter Henry, etc.

I think he improved quite a bit into year 2 but you’re right, going into last season there was a few on this forum who thought Hollister or other free agents should start over Knox. Holy crap... just checked and he had 10 drops as a rookie for a 20% drop rate lol. It's been trending in the right direction though. In 2020 he had 4 drops with a 9.1% drop rate which is still bad, but this past season he had 4 drops for a 5.6% drop rate.

The thing was in the beginning of his career he’d make these spectacular catches, but then drop the “easy” ones. It was so frustrating.

During his first two seasons- he would make some of the craziest catches you'd see from a TE, then drop the easiest passes. It was frustrating as hell, but when you see the crazy catches+ his athleticism- it was easy to become enamored with him. It's good to see he is beginning to put it all together. He was an incredibly raw talent coming out of college due to not getting a lot of reps. Edited September 8, 2022 by WizeGuy
