Game #8 vs. Tennessee Titans

I'm not sure I trust those stats as a whole.    And the OL didn't gain a degree of control,    if anything it changed because the coaching staff realized they were getting owned and starting moving Mahomes and the pocket.   Mahomes and the coaching staff making it work doesn't mean the OL started playing better.

That's a good DL,  but I would expect a lot better from our OL and hopefully the coaching staff does also.

Look, I get the feeling, as I felt on first watch that the OL struggled all night well. But I'm telling you, on rewatch and statistically, it wasn't nearly as bad as it felt. It was a pretty okay night against a great DL. It wasn't great, and they still lost some bad ones even considering the competition (Trey Smith especially), but this is one of those things that's magnified by how much we passed, and the fact that honestly, everyone thinks their OL sucks. Save for maybe like, Eagle fans this year. It's a position where the 1 or 2 bad blocks stand out more than the 25 routine ones. The one sack allowed is more memorable than all the times nothing of note happened up front.

Oh I don't think our OL is awful,   it's much better than 80% of the league.    I just think they had an awful game in both phases.    It's all good,  we can move on.     I think those numbers are skewed by the coaching staff adjusting to their struggles.    Which is fine,  that is a good DL.   But to say they played even well is a stretch imo.     Mahomes definitely didn't have any faith in his pocket holding up... and some of that is warranted and some of that is just Mahomes.

Who were you looking at? I saw PM running for his life. The DB's didn't look back 'cause they had problems keeping up with our WR's. (which they did a pretty good job of really)

I didn't. This was not at all like the Super Bowl. Mahomes had 450 yards and the interception was tipped. That's an adjustment, not desperation.

I was complaining about the WR rotation during the game. Here's the snap counts for them (92 max):

Quote

JuJu: 79 total - 63 pass - 16 run (12 targets)

MVS: 66 total - 51 pass - 15 run (1 target)

Hardman: 51 total - 41 pass - 10 run (9 targets)

Watson: 24 total - 19 pass - 5 run (5 targets)

Moore: 22 total - 18 pass - 4 run (1 target)

Toney: 7 total - 5 pass - 2 run (2 targets)

What happened to MVS in the game? He was invisible considering how much he played.

I'd be curious to do some digging -- and I may next week when I have some free time -- but Hardman (22%) and Watson (26%) both seem to get targeted at a high percentage when they're out there on pass plays. I peeked at week 7 where Hardman was targeted on 19% of his pass snaps and Watson was on 25% of his pass snaps. Might find something interesting there, idk.
