Never shouldve resigned DJ.   Wish someone would have said that repeatedly this offseason....

You and @warfelg were both all for it when the details of the contract came out. Was considered a “steal” at the time especially considering how easy it is to get out of. Not to mention the idea of keeping DJ around for Kenny’s development. And without re-signing we don’t flip Claypool for a top 35-40 pick. Also, having him under contract this offseason gives us the ability to trade him for a pick if we really want to move on.

Johnson has had a bad season no doubt but re-signing him the way we structured it was still the right move imo.

The only thing I was “for” was the contract was not a long term commitment. We were happy that is wasn’t the high dollar long term deal many were ok with.

I was happy it wasn't close to the deal that numerous Steeler fans suggested, and we were a bit questionable at WR, but I always maintained we should have traded him before or during the draft.

But you are right.   It was kinda the "right move" given the circumstances.

Highsmith is gonna end up with 10-15 sacks. wonder what his contract talks will be like

Better be like "we are going to offer you a contract based on how you play WITHOUT TJ holding your hand..."
