What would you do with Jacobs?

  1. 1. What would you do with Jacobs?

    • Re-sign him, likely for 3-4 years and top ~5-8 pay. Our O would be totally screwed without him.

    • Franchise tag him for one season, run him into the ground, then move on. We need him around but can't commit to him.

    • Let him walk, don't tie up big $ long-term for an oft-injured RB. Collect that comp pick!

Tag or 5th year option.  It was within a million of the same price tag.  Doesn't change you flat out BSd trying to over hype your own take.  It was a common sentiment here. 🧢

I was legit the only one saying we should've picked up the option before the monster season little guy.

And was getting pulled from games prior to injury, lil buddy.

And nobody gives a rat's arse about whether he was nice for the Patriots. Javon Walker was nice for the Packers once too.

The players did, that's why he was voted as the 20th best player in the league after his monster season in New England...

It fascinates me that the league thinks there suddenly will be no more LaDainian Tomlinsons or AP's. Jacobs is 25 he was lightly used in college, he has the short stocky RB build that tends to be more durable and hasn't taken big hits. You could be letting a future HOF walk and give another team 5 all pro seasons.

Absolutely no reason why a 3 year extension wasn't given to him here something you could get out of after 2 if you see decline.

The chart I looked up showed this and next year will be when rbs hit their prime years usually. I’d give him a 3 yr deal easily

Prior to last season, he had trouble staying on the field. You couldn't make a case for picking up his 5th year options, let along extending him. He had a breakout season, but he's far from being consistent in his career and a sure thing going forward.

Mehhhhhh idk about that carter could have a huge chip on his shoulder to reclaim his rep only time will tell

Or that could be just him as a person. We weren't there in the interviews and gathering information from those around him. That's a possibility that the Carter lovers don't take into consideration.

one thing is the driving incident, but then he doubled down and was sloppy during the pre draft stuff. He may turn out to be a HOF but he was a risk the Raiders couldnt afford.

You legit just say the opposite of whatever the consensus is all the time, so this checks out.

Gotta disagree here. He's been nicked up alot but nothing major that affects his long term value. The nicks should be expected when you're giving him the ball 250+ times a year. And he was a 1,000 yard back 3 out of 4 years with over 100 catches the last 2 years.

He's the only RB in the league sporting back to back 1,000+ yard/50+ catch seasons.

Fair. But he had his ups and downs. His rookie year being his best. Year 3, he looked slow and lack explosiveness. He came on late, but you could not justify his 5th year option based on how he looked that year.

You can argue he carried us to the playoffs tho.
