It’s just the most Kirk Cousins thing ever to make that play with the season on the line. Soft. Kobe Bryant GIF

Yeah, especially with trying to make up for an o line trying to get him murdered. Standing in there getting killed every single game including this one and we want to call him soft from the comfy safety of the couch lol.

“No plays short of the sticks” is something everyone says about 4th down, but the fact is huge numbers of 1st downs are got with YAC every game, discounting it on 4th is dumb. It was the wrong decision to throw it, but obviously you have a dump off route in the pattern just in case.

Yeaaah, hard pass. Throwing short of the sticks (especially that short) on 4th down is a dumb idea about 99% of the time, better off just designing something that’ll get you a first instead of praying the defense magically forgets to cover someone.

Give KOC a second chance, I doubt they play it the same.

He played very very well this game against a great D-Line. That throw to Hock gets turned into a YAC first down all the time. Your defense just didn't have it tonight.

Yeah they would, everyone had the “lol worst 13 win team ever” posts locked and loaded.

Kind of hard to argue, tbh.

Though being the worst 13 win team ever isn't exactly a damning statement that people make it out to be. They still won 13 games lol

Regression to the mean

I don’t think you even know what that means. It was just a star studded offense making up for the inconsistent at best defense. Today the offense couldn’t quite do enough to get it done.

What is this supposed “mean” you are referring to? Their defense has been near bottom ranked all season long while their offense has done enough to balance it out. That narrative wasn’t really different today.

Literally nobody would clown on him for throwing a 50/50 ball to Jefferson there.

Throw a 50/50 ball to the best player on the team/1st team All-Pro receiver for a first down or throw it to your TE locked up in coverage 3 yards past the LOS on 4th and 8?

Yeah, we’re totally just picking on Cousins here…

100%.

Defense was suspect for most of the season and it showed tonight. Tough to overcome that in the playoffs. Props to Minnesota for that record + even getting this far tbh. I for one didn’t have them making the playoffs this year before the season started, they definitely overachieved.

Yeah, props to them for gutting out all the wins.  This game looked a lot like a lot of those wins, just this time the ball didn’t bounce their way.  Happens.  They have a lot to work on this off-season.
