And Cook has been out quite a bit too. I'd still rather see them attempt to run though. If I'm a coach, I'd rather run with a poor OL than ask them to pass block.

Last year Cook misses almost the entire season and LaTavius Murray had a decent year. Their OL is not any worse than it was last year. DeFilipo just didn’t commit to trying to run the ball.

I'm not disagreeing with you on this, except the OL is worse than last year. The rest we agree

Yeah, I’m not so sure about that and if their OL is worse it’s probably bc they are paying so much for their starting QB and can’t afford more than vet minimum starters in a few spots.

Brandon Banks.

Almost ten years ago. When you're having to go back that far to justify a team's bonafides, they kind of suck.

However, to help you out:

Kansas State

Year Round Pick Player Name Team Position
2018 5 5 142 D.J. Reed 49ers DB
2017 3 9 73 Jordan Willis Bengals LB
  7 14 232 Elijah Lee Vikings LB
2016 2 25 56 Cody Whitehair Bears G
2015 3 5 69 Tyler Lockett Seahawks WR
  6 20 196 Randall Evans Eagles DB
2014 6 26 202 Tavon Rooks Saints T
2013 2 24 56 Arthur Brown Ravens LB
  4 26 123 Chris Harper Seahawks WR
  6 36 204 Braden Wilson Chiefs RB
2012 7 22 229 Bryce Brown Eagles RB
2011 2 30 62 Daniel Thomas Dolphins RB
2010 5 10 141 Joshua Moore Bears DB

Comparison to other (current) Big XII teams since 2010:

  • Baylor: 27 (1 was a supplemental pick (Josh Gordon))
  • Iowa State: 5
  • Oklahoma: 46
  • Oklahoma State: 18
  • Kansas: 8
  • TCU: 24
  • Texas: 27
  • Texas Tech: 10
  • West Virginia: 25

So, again I ask: what has K-State done to warrant consideration beyond a glorified high school team?

One guy? That's what you're going to hang your hat on? Even a crappy team like UVA has produced more players to the NFL.

Hell, JMU probably had more current players on NFL teams than KState.

This was as of Week 1 this year...

2018 NFL Dukes
Daniel Brown (2011-14) – Chicago Bears
Rashard Davis (2013-16) – Philadelphia Eagles
Raven Greene (2013-17) – Green Bay Packers
Dean Marlowe (2010-14) – Buffalo Bills
Arthur Moats (2005-09) – Arizona Cardinals
Aaron Stinnie (2013-17) – Tennessee Titans
Earl Watford (2008-12) – Cleveland Browns
Josh Wells (2009-13) – Jacksonville Jaguars

I started off putting JMU on there, but pulled it back because I didn't want you to think I was picking on JMU.

I was joking about Banks. Again, I’m sorry you went through all this work to prove something to me that didn’t need to be proven.

Bryce Brown was a handcuff pick for plenty of fantasy players.  I remember grabbing him one year and getting a decent trade haul because the owner who had the starter was desperate for the handcuff.

  1. "Desperate fantasy owner does stupid things. Story at 11."
  2. If not for this trade, would you have recognized the guy's name?

Sorry, that didn't come through. (there's a reason why I drop a bunch of :D 's when I'm joking around)
