As I posted above, Slay and Johnson are the only contracts they can restructure for cap space. If you think they need to do the Slay and Johnson restructures just to afford these free agent signings theyve made, how do you suppose they give Hurts a new deal and sign a rookie class? How do we do any other depth moves Howie is sure to do? We can use another LB now that both TJ and White have both left. We may still bring back Cox. We may bring back or replace Paschal. We may sign a guard for depth if Seumalo leaves, or pay him handsomely. We may still need to sign a safety, or give a pretty pricy deal to Gardner-Johnson. There is a lot more money to be spent. This is where you realize Howie knows a heck of a lot more no matter how closely fans think they have this stuff tracked. Its day 2 of the free agent negotiation period. Free agency officially hasnt even started yet. We are far from done. So theres certainly far more money available than you think.
ACO
That sounds more realistic.

HazletonEagle
Penny was dirt cheap as expected. This is a camp body type of signing, which is what I hoped it would be. Gotta see what kind of burst he still has left after surgery for a broken leg. Always injured. No way they were going to rely on him as the Sanders replacement. There will still be a signing or draft pick. Gainwell and Scott are depth. Penny is a lottery ticket, nothing more.

We signed two cheap RB’s and a CB who admitted he took a below market deal. It was still over 12M per year. Along with Kelce's 14M deal. And theres a ton of signings still yet to come. We dont even have a QB2 on the roster yet, in addition to all the depth signings we will make in rounds 2 and 3 of free agency. As well as the draft class. With 2 1st round picks, potentially. There is a lot of money somewhere that Howie knows about, and capologist fans can not figure out. Edited March 15, 2023 by HazletonEagle
