Many of us see it as the risk is low and it's worth the risk. If it doesn't work out who cares. These are the type of moves you try every season. You sign like 1-2 of these types. Have no idea how Howie could swing it but keeping him from Dallas and getting a guy like that to captain the defense would be amazing even just for a year.
