Health has always been the biggest factor in success.  You can ask that question regarding any DL you want. Take Parsons, Garrett, Bosa's, Miller or Watt off thier respective squads, they still the same? Now take away any of thier #2 Pass Rushers instead? That unit still same?

Name me a deeper DL in football? Only one close is SF IMO, which is why I said top 2.

Reddick, Sweat, BG, Smith, Barnett, Johnson

Cox, Davis, Carter, Williams, Street, Ojomo, Tuipulotu

Just saw OP, respectfully disagree on Bills.

The Bills without their best pass rusher Von Miller knocked out Aaron Rodgers for the season...  But yes I underrated the 49ers because I never thought Drake Jackson would be an elite player but 3 sacks first game is pretty impressive and they are getting good play with Ferrell as well the back edge guy.  Already have Nick Bosa who is better than any edge player on the Eagles when healthy and Hargrave as a pass rusher is better than any DT on the Eagles.

But yes the Eagles have the deepest DT group no question, but I sometimes overrate depth obviously because all that matters are the starters unless there is constant rotation or player injuries.  Will be interesting how Reddick does because if he is not as impactful as last year that will hurt them and not sold on Nolan Smith instantly taking up that slack as a pass rusher because he will be asked to be more a traditional LB with the injuries they have their potentially.

Clearly the Cowboys are way up there after week one but we will see who can be consistent and not just take advantage of injured and or crap OLs.

Did you just use a fluke Achilles injury as justification for the Bills pass rush? 👌

That same unit did get 2 more sacks but that was against Zach flipping Wlison for basically an entire game. Just saying.

SF/Philly then the rest. Depth absolutely matters for this discussion for best overall or the Eagles wouldn't of almost broke the NFL single season sack record last year.

Injuries will dictate which DL is best by seasons end, always does. We'll see.

Early on into the season what this is the top DL units potentially?

Micah Parsons is easily the best pass rusher in the NFL who is by far the most versatile that is the hardest to stop.  Totally destroying guys out there and with the attention he gets that opens up things for Lawrence, Armstrong, Williams etc  By far the best pass rusher in the league and potential defensive MVP if not more than that...  Washington's front, well Chase is clearly healthy again and they are super dominant as well and 49ers not far behind.  Eagles are good but if you compare their edge guys with the rest above, they only become elite if Reddick is a monster and so far he is coming off the injury and not as impactful yet.

2 games in PFF Grades

Jalen Carter 90.2
Jordan Davis 89.8

Granted they're not taking a lions share of the snaps, but it's a bright future for the interior D-Line in Philly.

Well one of those games were against a crap Vikings interior OL with a backup center and arguably two of the worst starting guards in football, then the 1st game they played against two rookie first time NFL starting guards on the Patriots because of injuries as well.

So sure they were good but did not go up against much those first two games that is for sure.

With the least blitz % and no von miller 👀

Very true, if Von Miller can come back healthy that will be one hell of a group.  Ed Oliver obviously has taken his game to another level and so has Epenesa and Rousseau, Floyd has filled in in Miller really nicely as well.

It is still early, heck Seattle has 16 and tied for 1st but that is because they just got 11 in one game!  And Chargers are up there but that was because of the ridiculous 6 sacks in one game by Mack.

Will be interesting how the Bills deal with the loss of White which is huge then Benford might be out as well.  Lucky for them Elam is coming back and Taron Johnson is so good and Dane Jackson is so solid.  There is a reason I had them #1 at DB also, that depth which is helping them out greatly and usually does.

Seattle is one hell of a DB unit also with Witherspoon playing so great which is not a surprise.  Had them 5th could argue they are 2nd potentially and in terms of the starters when all healthy as good as any.  To whoever said no way Witherspoon is as good as Sauce Gardner or has that type of impact, well......
