NFL concussion protocol is a joke.  Saw those shaking arms immediately on Savage sack and couldn't believe it wasn't mentioned (another thing broadcasters are discouraged from discussing).  Fencing response and sign of traumatic brain injury - let's see, player essentially having a mini-stroke, stick him in a tent for a play, then put him back in.  We've already destroyed the career and life of Fido by letting him play less than a week from a concussion despite previous concussion history, Savage is well on his way.    I sure would love to see some sort of study of this Texans turf as pretty much anytime a head hits it, seems like it's concussion-land.  Like old school cement Veterans Stadium in Philly.

A couple of things. The commentators did mention what appeared to be a concussion and his shaking. They seemed surprised when Savage came back out.

The uptick in concussions and injuries in general have been extreme this season. Isn't this the first year with the new turf?

They only mentioned it when Savage went to tent, not after the play.  Saw shaking hands after hit and was sitting here thinking, are we really not going to mention this?  Savage comes back and looks completely non functioning mentally and just throws the ball at Millers feet because he's not processing information and wasn't mentioned then either.  NFL strongly discourages announcers from using the "c-word" and has them wait until it's "approved" by going to that stupid tent which is just to shield "the shield" from the fact that it's the same stupid "look in my eyes"  "what day is it son" , "everything checks out - back in there, kid."   Enjoy your swiss cheese brain in 10 years.  "Independent Dr." who does Texans protocols needs to be sued for malpractice.  Will never forget a clearly concussed Hopkins playing his rookie year (diagnosed after game), then playing on a Thursday night. Hoyer in playoff game, clearly concussed.  Good times.

FYI - cared for a good friend/brother years ago as he was dying from ALS.  Most horrific disease you could possibly imagine.  Watched it go from a bit of a limp handshake to using a straw to type words in about 4 years.  Worst part is that while it slowly takes use of inch by inch of your body you are completely mental aware as you become a prisoner.  Two young kids left trying to figure out why dad can't even hug them anymore and he gets moved from room to room like a potted plant - but is completely aware of every second.  Brutal, brutal stuff.
