How much did you bet against him, then? He was a top 10 odds guy.

Jakuvious
18 hours ago, Melbourne 9er said: Never really understood the comeback/GWD narrative. You get marked up because you were crap in the first half or 3 quarters when the defense is at their freshest? Makes no sense. Wouldn't a QB that gets his team up by 2-3 TDs and then run out the game be more valuable? Absolutely this. I could maybe buy a GWD success rate stat. Something like QB had 6 chances at a GWD, scored on 4, so 66.67% success rate, kind of thing. Though even that's a little flawed because not all opportunities are equal, there. But just listing the number favors guys who put themselves in that situation more often. Like, on a per game basis, Derek Carr is the greatest GWD/4QC QB of all-time. But it's just because he puts himself in that situation obscenely often by playing a lot of really mediocre football.
nagahide13
Mahomes is ahead of Tua and Lamar is just behind in MVP odds. Dak, Purdy, Hurts, Mahomes, Tua, Lamar. Then it falls off.

If you're going to give it to a 49er because of their team achievements then it should be go to CMC. But really it should be Tyreek. It wouldn't just be because of the 49ers team achievements, it would be because Purdy has some fairly absurd stats in his own right along with playing on one of the best teams in the league (which has historically always been a component of the award)

TLaw was on pace for 4,600 yards but only 26 TD.

Soko
Purdy is people’s first or second MVP candidate now? Dude was largely out of people’s top 4 last week. Hurts’ winning narrative took a ding. Dak should be leading. Philly vs Dallas will be big.

He was good for a 3 week stretch, largely was an average QB before that. He’s been a huge 2nd half season player two years in a row. He had no shot at MVP. My top 4 are Dak, Stroud, Hurts, Purdy in that order. Hurts and Purdy close.
