Fumble out of the endzone: whose ball should it be?

  1. 1. This rule is being reconsidered by the competition committee. How you answer will determine how well you understand the sport of football, and whether you are a moral or immoral person.

    • Defense (keep rule as it is)
    • Offense (change the rule)

Since this is a pretty rare scenario, I think the following should happen:

Each team chooses 1 skill position player.

These players must meet head-to-head in an Oklahoma drill. The winner's team gets the ball.

if the offense wins, they get the ball at the opposing team's 20 yard line. If the defense wins, they get the ball at their own 20 yard line.

At random, the football is replaced with a live honey badger.

Any kicker who misses a FG under 40 yards has to walk up an down one randomly chosen aisle of fans while they boo him relentlessly.

I like this. Could we also have an extra kicker who doesn't count on the 53 man roster, and can be substituted for the kicker on the 53 man but only if the team has to cut the starter?

We could see a guy miss a kick and get insta-cut.
