One game doesn't make a career. Dak is 2-5 in the playoffs, stunk out loud in nearly all of those games, and never sniffed anything past the divisional round. How accomplished is Brady again? I forget.

Nobody’s comparing careers bro, we’re comparing current abilities and contracts.  You can’t keep saying we can’t pay our QB and win a SB then look at every SB Winner other than Foles in the last decade and see they were paid Top 5 QB Money.  And you can’t keep saying we should’ve dumped Dak and gotten better when the ONLY QB to do better out of the HUNDREDS since Dak was drafted is Patrick Mahomes who we never had a shot to draft to begin with

Brady was never paid top 5 money, and he went to 10 and won 7 of them. Why? Because he understood that if he hogged up the money all for himself, there wouldn’t be enough to keep a team around him.

Again, if Dak and the team sucked out loud the way it’s currently constructed, what makes anyone think it’ll be better with Dak soaking up even more cap space and thus thinning out the talent on the team since there won’t be any money to pay them? No one has been able to explain how he can do more with less since he already does less with more.

Not a QB stat.

Most of Dak's problems are from historically bad play calling by the Dullards.

At some point, people need to admit that he is also culpable for the mistakes which helped prevent wins. A guy can't always be totally blameless when the play on the field clearly demonstrates that he melts down mentally and makes bad decisions.

Other than Mahomes and Burrow, you can say that about every QB playing right now 🤷‍♂️

And if those are two of the QBs who provide the greatest obstacle to a Super Bowl (which should also include Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson), then paying Dak $60M+ guarantees that we never will, considering he can't even get past the divisional round with the talent currently on the roster. Imagine how much thinner the roster will be if we're stupid enough to pay him that much. If you aren't a fan of what's happened to this roster since free agency opened, get ready for that and more if we overpay Dak, because he isn't good enough to put a team on his back and win.

Then wouldn't you say the same thing about Lamar Jackson?  He "clearly" crumbles under pressure and can't perform in the post season.

Absolutely. He's been terrible in the playoffs, and the playoffs "strategy" this past season was brutal. Look how inaccurate he was. He showed to the world that he can't pass his way into a win. He relies heavily - and one can argue exclusively - on a dominant running game to be successul.

If you remember (and you're one of the few people who likely will), we talked about him when he was coming out of Louisville, and, in addition to his frail frame, his poor passing mechanics were one of my biggest criticisms about him. I LOVE his athleticism, but he still hasn't proven that he can get it done as a passer. So unless he dramatically improves as a passer (which is highly unlikely at this point in his career), he's going to have to ride on his RB's coat tails if he wants to win a Super Bowl. And that's why Derrick Henry is in Baltimore. They know it, too.

Dak and Lamar are probably each other’s doppelgängers in each conference, despite their radical differences in play style. I think Lamar has shown a higher ceiling with the two MVPs, but he’s probably been even worse than Dak in January.

Dak is a very good player, and obviously an outstanding human being (which makes it easier for the team to overlook his flaws and harder for them to make a clean break). But you hear this sentiment amongst a small but vocal portion of the fanbase that he’s interchangeable with anyone in the league but Mahomes, or that they’ll abandon the team to follow him if he leaves, like he’s Jesus or something, and I just think that’s silly, if not outright delusional.

He’s probably closer to the 7th or 8th best QB in the league, even if he looks like a Top 3 guy against the likes of Washington and New York. I’m not sure letting him walk and resetting in ‘25 is the right decision, but I think it’s really hard to construct a better roster around a guy making top QB money than what Dallas fielded from ‘21 to ‘23.

Totally false.  Brady was rarely paid in the top 10 highest paid QBs.  Mahomes also signed an incredibly friendly team deal.  And mahomes contract is so long that even when he is due huge roster bonuses, the chiefs will spread them out over 5 years so his cap hits are very manageable.  Dak specifically rejected Mahomes contract and would only sign a 4 year deal so he could take advantage of the new marketing deal next year.

brady’s genius was that he understood that he could make a lot more money from marketing than playing football and he wanted to win.  Hence, the patriots could be very active in FA.  Brady always had a good OL and quality receivers.

mahomes’ genius is that he can get paid well and can still make up for having subpar WRs.  Mahomes can convert 3rd and 15 on his own by scambling.

Dak is the exact opposite… he’s not good enough to overcome subpar talent like Mahomes and he wants to get paid top money.  Extending Dak will not help the team take the next step… it will just create more roster holes that we are already seeing this offseason.

This here is really important to factor into the equation. Dak is already pulling in $50m/yr in endorsements, but everyone loves a winner. Especially, if the winner plays QB for the Cowboys.
