Also, two other offensive coaches got the ax and the RB coach moved on (no real loss there). So now what? Gruden's name has been thrown about. If you do bring him in... where does he fit? We're up against father time with players that demand high pay, and there are so many of them, you're either paying, restructuring, or releasing. I'm sure some will have some salary converted into bonuses. At the end of the day, a leopard doesn't change its spots. Expect Loomis to Loomis, and that's where we'll be. No doubt that they'll figure out a way to become cap compliant. Any thoughts on how they might be able to do this. Which players do you think will get released and or restructured? Appreciate any information you fans could provide. It's always difficult to get fans of teams to participate in these mocks when their teams are in these issues. To keep it fun for everyone involved in these mocks I'll make exceptions to the rules, such as granting more restructures to free up cap so that they can have fun in the free agency. Mid Iowa Posted January 30 Share Posted January 30 So, I know the "season" isn't quite over yet, but aside from the Superbowl, it is. Is anyone else getting concerned that we've not made an OC hire yet? We've interviewed 10 candidates so far, and not that none of them are worthy, the fact is some have chosen elsewhere. On a side note, between Detroit and Denver, I'm thinking they're becoming the new Saint 2.0/3.0 with all the former Saints staff and players. Always interesting to watch. I've never really looked into Dennis Allen's coaching tree, but I don't see him bringing many people from elsewhere. He's kinda on an island, but I sure see him losing our people. Is this a Loomis thing? Is Loomis likeable? I mean, we lost Payton and he happily sat out as he didn't want to come back to the Saints. So I ponder what's going on. Raves Posted January 31 Share Posted January 31 Unless there is a report that they've offered the job multiple times and it keeps getting refused. Right now it just seems like they are trying to get as many thoughts on how to run the offense using the personnel they have and finding who they think is the best fit for it.
