If the 49ers do make a surprise cut (Which I dont think they will) I think it happens tomorrow.

I think it’d probably be AA, iirc his dead cap number is now substantially lower.

AA is also like, THE leader for this team, so maybe not lol.

Brendel could be cut given the options on the FA market.

but yeah, don’t see this team trying to cut anyone.

AA probably restructures his deal to avoid that happening. But I did forget about him. He may be someone they release but I don't know how much of cap savings that would provide. They are not going to bring him back at 28M though.

Mick Lombardi is being added to the coaching staff, according to Maiocco. No specific title yet, but maybe he takes over Klint's role as offensive passing game coordinator?

I can see that.

Tbh I think he ends up being assistant QB coach or QB coach has been the QB coach previous roles. I think it makes sense for Griese to be promoted to passing game specialist, klay to QB coach. Also note Mick was the WR Coach for the Pats. I don't think he ends up being the passing game specialist.

I don't think Kyle takes Griese away from working with Purdy. Those two have a good connection and Kyle is not going to want to mess with that.

I would not want to mess with anything around Purdy unless I had to. 9.6 YPA+ 9.1 ANY/A is all time stuff. I've said it before, but if you get to that level of offensive efficiency, you keep the pieces until they age out. It's a championship contention guarantor. I think that Purdy can and will regress on the deep ball stuff. I mean, he was the most accurate passer of throws over 20 yards in the past decade and a half by 15 percentage points. That's unsustainable. But he didn't even have average pass protection. If you get that to average or a little above, I think that you could compensate for that regression comfortably.

Lol, but this was expected. I did not expect their RT situation to change. Only potential position they try to upgrade on the OL is at RG. Shanny just does not value pass blocking, especially from the RT position. Could be the reason we never get over the hump.

Honestly, this a good idea. McKivitz is fine as a swing tackle and gives you enough of a fallback where you don't mind drafting the better player

We very well may draft a tackle but that will be for 2025 and forward. I think a guy like Morgan may be a good choice as he can shift inside to play guard and then swing out to tackle. Granted, that's not always the best of strategies.

He was already under contract for this year, this is for 2025. I don't think this really changes much all told. That type of money is basically swing tackle cash. Honestly, this may decrease his cap hit this year as well. He was 3.5. Wouldn't be surprised if he was like 2.5 now.

Yeah, I misread that. It just probably lowered his cap hit for 2024 a bit and then he will be under contract in 2025. This does not take us out of drafting a tackle in this year's draft.
