Sounds like Jamin could have a Micah Parson/Bruce Irvin type role in our new D. I guess we’ll see. He could play OLB on run downs & then be used as a pass rusher on passing downs.

Remember me telling you this about JD?

I’m gonna put this one on the “meh” side of all these signings. I get Wagner is great to have around to help the young guys along with the system, but last year he looked slow.

Yep. Its a one year deal to build some culture and mentorship. He was a liabiltiy in coverage last season. Good against the run.

DeJa Vu all over again .. R R bringing in an old and slow Thomas Davis . It's Ground Hog day right .. ?

Wagner is coming off 2nd team All-Pro last season, Hopefully he is closer to what London Fletcher was for us than 37 year old Thomas Davis

I actually think they couldn't be further from each other. Every player (minus Mariota) that is signed makes sense and seems to fit "the plan" that both Adam Peters and Dan Quinn spoke of. They all are going to contribute in some way. I haven't seen a single William Jackson square-peg-round-hole signing so far. This is probably the best offseason I can remember (so far) in over a decade.

https://www.nfl.com/news/commanders-dan-quinn-is-counting-on-bobby-wagner-as-multiplier-he-s-all-that-i-love-about-football

"He's all that I love about football," Quinn told SiriusXM NFL Radio about Wagner this week. "He's a tackler. He's aggressive, he's tough, he's smart, he takes care of himself. So what I'm hopefully to see, and I'm certain it will happen, is he's a multiplier. Because 'This is how the standard is. This is how I operate. This is the process to go through.' So if you're a young linebacker being around somebody, this is the exact type of linebacker you'd want to be around.

Very excited about seeing our LBs out there. Hope that Wagner can help vault Luvu and Davis into superstardom.
