I think this played a part why he wasn’t drafted. But in a world where a man can say they are a woman and compete in sports and be celebrated- I  admire this kid for being a free thinker and committed to his beliefs. I hope he succeeds.

Awesome.  Well the football field is flat and that is all that matters.

And this just wasn’t Rivera.  This seems to be a long pattern.  Someone also posted that this might be more UDFA than Rivera signed his entire tenure, and they might be correct.

Just read that half the league wanted the CB from Colorado State and we paid up for him. So I think the good thing is that we're willing to pay more to get these guys in. Just wish we'd see a few more tackles.

Adam Peters wasn’t about to let one of the most sought-after undrafted free agents, cornerback Chigozie Anusiem, get away from the Washington Commanders. So general manager Peters essentially outbid “half the league” to sign the former Colorado State star shortly after the 2024 NFL draft.

The Commanders handed Anusiem “a whopping $50,000 signing bonus and a $300K base salary guarantee, per source. Half the league wanted Anusiem after he went undrafted, and Washington paid up to lock him in,” according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

It’s little wonder Anusiem sounded overjoyed when he posted on X, “Commanders let’s rock!!!,” shortly after joining the team.

Anusiem wasn’t the only member of the Commanders’ rookie free-agent class who received a hefty contract. He was a prospect who visited with several teams as a potential Day 3 pick during the pre-draft process, including one of Washington’s NFC East rivals.

Has no one signed Jalen Green yet @Thaiphoon?

Nah, his medical eval must be worse than I though on that injury. The guy can play (15.5 sacks in just 9 games before he got injured). He just needs to get healthy. He would be a great 3rd down specialist/special teamer once healthy.

That is a good thing when you are prepared to outbid everyone like that.  Sneaky ways in which you can use that cap that has been accumulating.  It appears they threw down a hefty offer for Hartman as well.
