Bullard definitely because he was their best DL last year.

I'm 34 and my memory is terrible but I just don't recall anyone popping on the DL last year. They did re-sign him which is a mark in his favor. If anything he's at least a known quantity in this defense.

Phillips, Roy and Bullard are guaranteed to make the roster.  Bullard definitely because he was their best DL last year.  After those 3, it's a crapshoot.

I dont think Bullard is guaranteed. He has minimal guaranteed money, is already 30 and looked worst last year, than the year prior.

Tillery has the biggest guarantee out of the DL they have brought in this year, was signed in the first week of free agency, and has the highest pass rushing upside out of this group. I think they like Tillery a lot, or at least see something more they can get out of his physical traits and 1st round draft capital.

they re-signed him but the money tells you they wont think twice to cut him if something better comes along.

Anything's possible since he no longer has Chris Rumph as his ally, but I'd still be immensely surprised, because they've seemed to have supported him at every turn.

what's going on with all the tight end signings? first the Chile guy and now Tonyan?

i get it, Hock isn't starting Week 1, but didn't we already have four other TE's?

Good question, I'm not exactly sure. Maybe something to do with the new kickoff?

I thought Nick Muse was very impressive last season. I imagine Hock will start the season on the PUP which puts him out for the first 4 weeks.

Roster locks: THock, J. Oliver, and J. Mundt

Battling for TE4: N. Muse, T. Knox, S. Reyes, and R. Tonyan

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they decide to keep an extra TE for ST purposes...the same could be said for keeping an extra LB.  Without necessarily needing speed on kickoffs any longer, they're probably going to need guys with greater agility and power.

So the international guy doesn’t count on the 90 man.

now they have 6 on the 90 man. If you scan the 90 man rosters across the league, 6 is pretty average!

so seems normal to me

How is Jihad Ward being cut over Rodriguez?  To call Ward only a OLB and not a DE is an insult, dude is 6-5 285 yeah he can play DE/edge in this system.  Even Roy making it over Ward would be a surprise, Ward is a solid player that they need on the front considering his versatility and experience.

Also keep Booth and cut Evans?  That would be a surprise.  Also if Jackson cannot beat out Booth at CB that is just sad.

Also not sure how Nester is considering an OT when really he should be the backup OG along with Feeney.

And Richter should be considered a ILB and depending on what he shows I would take him over what they got as the backup or even over Asamoah. at WLB.   But he will have to progress in what he can do and show he is not just an edge rusher.

Vikings have him as an OLB and he was practicing with the edge group during rookie mini camp. While I agree, I would love to see if he could be a ILB downhill thumper, it might just not be in the cards for him from an instincts standpoint in play diagnosing.

Also, interesting enough, he only got 15k guaranteed on his UDFA contract. So the NFL as a whole, does not value him that highly. To comparison, Murphy got 245k, and last year pace and carter got 236k and 340k.

That WR group behind JJ and Addison is bleak. Powell is at best average.

I'd still like to see Gant and McGothern make it. Rooting for Pat Jones but I think the writing is on the wall for him.

Yes, but those top two are soooooo good. No NFL roster is 5 deep at wideout; meaning that the Vikings 3rd-Nth WR is approximately as good as the rest of the league's 3rd-Nth WR.

I thought Powell made some nice plays last year as the #3 guy. I still have hopes for Nailor if he can stay healthy. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in a vet WR. Let's see how it shakes out. Not too enamored with anyone available right now.

I think Beauplan has the advantage over Gant. They brought him back this offseason after he was injured and waived last year.

McGlothern might just be a fan myth due to his high UDFA ranking and PFF grades. NFL teams did not see the potential that we think he might have, hence him only getting 30k guaranteed as a UDFA.
