I think they keep 3. Stidham can provide that backup that can come in off the bench and Wilson can continue to develop and be the starter if Bo gets hurt.

By any measure all three are in the top 53 players on the team. All three are young, intelligent, and good enough to play in the NFL. It's not like our roster is so stacked at other positions that other teams are salivating over our cuts.

When we signed Wilson my hopes were that he'd show enough in preseason to entice a trade. He may have done that.

28 of 44,  397 yds, 3-TD'd and no INT's. If teams think they're seeing a rejuvenated Wilson we may get a decent offer for him. Unfortunately for them, once Wilson is separated from our QB coaching guru's he's probably the same old Zach.

No way I'm keeping 3 QBs if I'm running the team. This team is going nowhere with Zach Wilson or Stidham at QB, so is it really a loss if they are on another roster?

I'd rather keep someone who can contribute on Special Teams, likely a WR or DB than 3rd QB.

If Bo Nix is one of the biggest winners of preseason, I think you'd have to put Forsyth in the biggest 'loser' category. He's been bad the last 2 games, especially last night from what I saw.

The bottom of the WR group is going to see the toughest cuts on the roster. Given he's been our returner on punts and kicks, will Bandy sneak a spot?

QB: I agree with not keeping 3 but mostly because both of their contracts are over after this year. Neither are going to stick around to be a career back up and will look to get their shot somewhere else. The only benefit to our back up this year is to help give another voice to Bo through his rookie season. Stidham makes the most sense given he's in year 2 of this system and took some reps with the 1's through camp. Big question for him is are we going to penny pinch or not. Wilson on the other hand has more starts in the league and higher upside but he's just as fresh in this system as Bo is... so not sure how much help he can actually be. While he has higher upside, he's a FA after this year and I don't see him sticking around so not sure what benefit there is to keeping him. If he was on a 2-3 year deal it would make a ton of sense to keep him around. I think ideally we're probably looking for a trade for one of them with Wilson having the potential to return more in draft capital while Stidham would save more money. We'll see what direction they go.

Prediction: Nix and Stidham (2)

RB: At running back it wouldn't surprise me for us to keep 3. Javonte looks much improved this year although I haven't seen him back at his peak yet but he's made progress enough to be on this team. Perine fell off a cliff and i'm sure will be cut to save the money. McLaughlin and Estime are sure to make the team. Instead of keeping 4 on the 53, we'll probably try and sneak Badie and Watson to the practice squad. They haven't shown anything substantial to think they'll go elsewhere.

Prediction: Javonte, McLaughlin, Estime

WR: Going to keep updating this post with my predictions as I find time during the work day :)

One of these guys sounds like a supportive backup, and the other does not. Interesting…

They were talking about this on the radio this morning and I agree. I can respect Stidham having confidence in himself and believing he is starting QB material in this league. I don't agree with him on that, but I'm not going to fault the guy for being confident in himself.

That being said, if he is going to be a malcontent, I say bid him farewell. The Giants QB room is a mess, Stidham has ties to the Belichick tree, of which Daboll is a part, from his time with the Pats and McRaiders, go there and compete for a job because we all know Daniel Jones and Drew Lock aren't the answer and Tommy Divito is only popular there because of his ties to the area.

This is exactly right. I don't want to waste a roster spot on a QB when we more pressing needs elsewhere. Sean said money won't factor in to the decision but if we can save $5m in cap space, even if we don't use it this year we can roll it over to next year, that's a role-player free agent we can sign or an extra chunk of change to pay PS2. No reason to keep Stidham since Wilson has proven he can operate the offense, is supportive of Beau, has more starting experience, is cheaper and we can use the extra roster spot for a ST contributor.

Further to this, I think Mustipher has got better through preseason, especially yesterday.

Would not be surprised if he makes it over Alex

After an injury plagued 1st 2 seasons and sitting out last year after his father was tragically killed in an explosion Caleb Farley seems to be on his way out in Tennessee. Thoughts on sending a 7th (or Stidham) their way to see if he finally reaches his potential? I’m down.

Man normally I'd be down but we are surprisingly having a young player problem right now in that we have too many! Maybe he replaces Wallace or the like as our 4th CB in the room and could improve after that? I just don't know if it's that enticing at this stage

I wish we were in a position to take advantage of Ernest Jones wanting out of LA but the capital and money to make that happen makes no sense for us. He's a great player though.

If we bring in players from outside the org, I'll be looking at O-line, D-line and TE as spots to keep an eye out for. Our hard decisions are definitely our WR room and maybe secondary/safeties.

How does everyone think the punting battle will end?

I personally like Dixon. I feel like he gets some of the directional stuff better more consistently (from the eye test at least) though I will admit Gill has a huge leg which is good if we are having trouble with 3 and outs.

Forsyth really surprised me. After protecting him on the 53 all last year I figured he'd build up his functional strength and come in ready to take the center job.

That didn't seem to happen. What a disappointment.

"

"The Broncos' quarterback room for the regular season will take shape over the coming days, and Payton said Sunday he sees "the three of them making it" to the roster.

Stidham said while he has "no doubts" he's a "starting caliber quarterback," he'll aim to serve as a resource for starting quarterback Bo Nix.

"I'm going to do whatever I can to help Bo get prepared," Stidham said. "… I'm going to help him in whatever way I can and then also be ready to go if I need to be."
