How is Loperfido?

A very fast runner, and has real good power. Not a great defender but he is capable of playing CF.  Will probably not hit for average and carry a high OBP, but he will be serviceable.

As we should be. We're not winning anything with these injuries. 2025 starts the window.

Nonsense, again. The injuries are a constant with Yelich so expecting his bad back to get better for 2025 is a stretch. The window is open now. No reason to sit back and waste another season for playoff revenue only. Wasting years in baseball is just ******* dumb. It's funny that you'd expect a change in philosophy in 2025. Their goal is to operate like a discount version of the Rays. The only plan is to host a playoff series to line Mark's pocket a bit more.

Yelich is not part of their window, the outfield will be Mitchell, Chourio, Frelick, Perkins next year. Maybe Yeli can be healthy enough for full-time DH. Black will be a full-timer. Next years rotation gets Woody back, has Hall healthy and in the lab all off-season and maybe gets Misio. We'll have a loaded bullpen.

This year is about getting the first wave of young guys some primetime experience. They aren't beating Philly/LA this year, would be stupid to push in any important chips via trade unless you're getting a Grienke type piece back with control.

I'm sure the D'Backs thought the same last year. You don't waste years in baseball. We've been treating this entire playoff run since Covid like the Herb Kohl Bucks. Just get in and that's good enough for us!

What an awful trade for the Orioles.  Trevor Rogers is the definition of “mid” and they gave up Norby and Stowers for him.  Tanner Scott should have been included in that trade.

Don't think its awful. Still some upside and a couple years of control.

O's can afford to deal from their depth.

Norby is a top 3-5 prospect in about 2/3’s of the systems in baseball.  Him alone should be enough for Rogers, and even that’s an overpay with how mid he’s been.

Adding Stowers should’ve added Scott to that deal.

I’m a big fan of Mike Elias and back him on just about everything, but this is an extremely questionable trade.
