Superduperman
1. Barry Sanders, 1997 - 2,053 yards rushing, 2,358 yds from scrimmage (in the interest of variety, I will not list any of Barry's other seasons, though '89, '91, '94, '95 and '96 could easily be on this list also) 2. Calvin Johnson, 2012 - 122 receptions, 1,964 yards receiving, still the single season record for yards 3. Matthew Stafford, 2011 - 5,038 yds passing, 41 TD, 16 INT 4. Al "Bubba" Baker, 1978 - 23.5 sacks (credited retroactively), defensive rookie of the year 5. Herman Moore, 1995 - 123 receptions, 1,686 yards. 123 catches was the single season record for almost 20 years until the NFL's current pass-happy era began Edited August 29 by Superduperman

Both seasons would be ranked higher if they'd gone farther in the playoffs.
TecmoSuperJoe
1. Joe Montana 1989 2. Steve Young 1994 3. Jerry Rice 1987 4. Nick Bosa 2022 5. Deion Sanders 1994
redsoxsuck05
Limiting to one player appearance and also to the Super Bowl era, so sorry YA Tittle, Frank Gifford, and Andy Robustelli: 1. LT 1986 - Nothing needs to be said 2. 2011 Eli, Nicks, Cruz, and JPP - They're a package deal, sorry for cheating. Countless unforgettable clutch performances. 3. 2001 Strahan - Meaningless season and phony record, but c'mon it's still one of the greatest statistical defensive seasons by an all-time great! 4. 2014 OBJ - THE best modern rookie WR season of all time. Better than Moss'. Better than JJ, Puka, and Chase. 5. 2005 Tiki - Everyone knows he's a Hall of Famer if he didn't become a raging ******* on 2006. HM: 1984 Mark Haynes - Forgotten great player for a short while, until he wanted to go home to Denver. 1970 Fran Tarkenton - Who here even knows that Tarkenton played several prime years on pathetic Giants teams? This year stood out to me because the team went 9-5, which is an insane accomplishment in that era of Giants football. 1986 Joe Morris and Mark Bavaro - Morris had 21 rushing touchdowns and Bavaro had a 1,000 yard season with the iconic play against the 49ers Apolgies to players like Jesse Armstead, Harry Carson, and Carl Banks who are difficult to judge due to linebacker stats sucking. Lewis's OPOY Ray’s 2003 > Lamar 2023 IMO Lamar 2023 MVP was largely due to it being a down year across the board. He was really good but i don’t think Lamar played the QB position in 2023 better than Ray played the MLB position in 2003

I think MVP is generally more prestigious than DPOY but Ray's play from 1999-2003 is pretty much peak ILB play of all time.

Except defensive players stand a snowball’s chance in he11 to win the MVP award. LT in 1986 was the last defensive player to win MVP. MVP today is usually the QB with the best stats on one of the top playoff teams.
Trojan
I would go the Raiders four MVPs then Khalil Mack's All Pro at two positions year. 1. Marcus Allen, RB 1985 2. Rich Gannon, QB 2002 3. Kenny Stabler, QB 1974 4. Daryle Lamonica, QB 1969 5. Khalil Mack, DE/LB, 2015 Edited September 2 by Trojan

Maybe sprinkle in Leslie O'Neal, only because Seau's impacts can't be judged by stats. 2007 Cromartie deserves a HM. If only sacks were a widely-recognized stat in 1978, then Bubba would be in the HOF.
