Surveilling the sophomore QBs

- Bryce is gonna look a lot better this year. Maybe even Top 12. Canales is a QB Guru who fixed both Geno and Mayfield, two lost causes. They also added Diontae Johnson, technically the best WR in the league at actually getting open. And Xaiver Legette, a 1st Round WR built like a truck who is blazing fast.

- Stroud is in MVP contention this year. He still has Slowik who is one of the best minds in the game. And a complete four headed monster in Nico, Diggs, Dell, and Schultz.

- Richardson, I am a BIG fan of, but I think his Massive Breakout comes Year 3 and I’ve said that since he got drafted. I expect an Average year out of Richardson for 2024, and an MVP-Level year in 2025. He needs one more year of development.

- Levis I view as a Low Football IQ QB, and also one of those QB’s that gets rattled by incoming pressure. I don’t view him being a success and see many INT’s this season which will probably be his only year starting.

I know you're currently banned 2 week.......but when you get back, just to be clear....Bryce is going to look a lot better this year because of Canales, but Levis is a moron who Callahan can't help? Is that your assessment?

No one is mentioning Hendon Hooker, which is understandable, but I believe he's going to play in the league at some point. He's had serious ups and downs in the preseason but consider that he's never played behind even the Lions' full second-team OL. When he's been kept upright he's shown decent ability to go through reads, a zippy arm, and excellent mobility.

Does he look like he has a future as a starter? He's in a weird spot in Detroit behind Goff and wonder if he may be traded eventually.

Hard to tell yet. We all knew he had a good arm, accuracy, and mobility. Developing an NFL game will take time for him. I just think to myself, where was Jordan Love at a similar point? People thought he had little chance. So we'll see after another season or so

Bryce Young is one of my sleepers for this year, particularly for fantasy football. Obviously a huge coaching upgrade with Canales, plus the additions of Brooks, Sanders, Johnson, and Leggette with Mingo / Thielen back in the fold as well.

I also think Will Levis has a chance to surprise some people. Ridley/Hopkins/Boyd at WR is super solid and Spears/Pollard might be the most underrated RB duo in the league.

Bias aside, this is one reason I'm picking Levis as the best of the bunch for this season (excluding Stroud for obvious reasons).  He's in a pretty good situation, and based on what he did last year, he has a (relatively) pretty high floor for the coming season.  His OL and weapons are unequivocably better than he had last year, and what he put on tape was better than what Richardson and Young did already.  He's got a deep group of WRs, a good TE with promising new ones, and two RBs that are dynamic pass catchers.  That's a lot of reliable targets, even if no WR on the Titans is threatening top 10 status.

I'm bearish on the hype on Levis (some folks are a little unrealistically high on him, I think) but I don't see him just taking a second season nosedive, especially when he's looked solid and consistent so far in preseason play.  He's the "safe bet," but the Titans do have a brutal early schedule, so if he gets David Carr syndrome he could bottom out.

Richardson, obviously, has a way higher ceiling, and it wouldn't shock me if he's a completely different QB by season's end than he is in the beginning.  But for now, his floor is definitely lower, and he still looked super raw in preseason play, and needs to improve a lot.  He also has a great group of receivers with Pittman/Downs/Pierce, and I liked Mitchell coming out.  He'll have the resources, but he's still a work in progress, so we'll see.

Young, I don't know.  The Panthers still have a lot of the same problems as last year with their OL, and he was straight up the worst of the rookie QBs last year.  Canales may be able to improve him, but he has the highest to climb.  I'm not betting on the guy starting at the bottom to end up at the top.

AOC isn't starting and neither is Hooker.  But I do like Hooker, and really hope he plays some this year.

Will Levi’s is only good at making pornos. Terrible QB. Richardson is Cam Newton 2.0x dudes fire and so talented. He makes throws no one can. I’ll never forget he made a 40+’yard throw on a rope with Aaron Donald all over him. I’ve never seen that in my life. I’m not sure if he has terrible accuracy or good accuracy! But where he puts the ball is insane.

he made some crazy throws that game.

he’s cam reincarnated.

Hooker is already a year older than Love and Love is starting year 5. That was my gripe with him in the draft. Older QB who needed to develop. At 26, I feel you should know where a QB is at.

I don't see what this has to do with anything. The transition from college to pro usually takes time regardless of age. Hooker, or someone else who comes out later, maybe has a potentially shorter career, but it doesn't make a difference to whether they can play or not.

Levis' 4th TD throw in the Atlanta game was a thing of beauty. Guy can make every throw on the field. He's got a cannon...but yes, he's a "terrible QB"

And what did he do in the other 8 games?

oh yeah he threw 4 Tds in 8 games. Very impressive for some 1942 football..

Wait he’s young, So was Cj. If you’re going to talk about him as good QB let’s compare him to good QBs: if you think he’s a back up then let’s talk about him as back up. There’s no in between. Specially in this NFL when it’s easy to put up big numbers. Will Levis at best is a temu Trevor Lawrence. I’ll die on his hill.. I’m not even convinced he’s better than Tanne.

It’s crazy cuz TN has some really nice weapons on offense. I’m a big fan of spears. I’ll start him over Pollard all day every day.

he showed some juice. Their receiving core is very good. Wasted on Mayo man. Trade for

Flacco. He’ll be cooking in this offense. He’ll actually get the ball down field. Btw, falcons were as as. Anything done to them last year was just eww. It’s like me flexing that I beat an amputee in a foot race. That’s all day baby.
