Debatable because you could say as far as on-the-field-production, he’s obviously far from the worst. But yeah, factoring in those picks, Baker leaving (and no costing a fraction of what Watson costs contractually), the cap hits, how long he’s locked in for, and his health…yeah. You’d rather just pick a Jamarcus Russell #1 overall. At least you could dump him ASAP, he won’t eviscerate your cap, and you still have your picks when you inevitably suck. The only other argument I could see is the Bryce Young deal in part because Baker and Sam Darnold were the Panthers QB room in 2022 when they moved up for Bryce.
