Could care less either way, both are legit and should help score points. more bothered by lateral run plays with najee, defence not showing up early, snap issues and in general not showing up vs certain teams I only watched the game on and off, not much interest when they don't show up
MOSteelers56
If they do make the switch, I hope Fields has the confidence to not let it affect him in a negative way. I’m hoping they don’t do it, though. I’ve liked Fields more every week he’s been here. Russ is who he is.
MOSteelers56
I thought Deshon Elliot played a strong game. That’s just off the eye test, though. He looked to be all over the ball.

Especially if Daniels is out more than just today.

JustPlainNasty
Seemed like the oline was getting obliterated early and often early. Najee with the 1 yd avg run. If he doesnt have an open lane to get a big head start he's not great. Last week there was a toss play where he was so slow to get back to the LOS, there was an opening there that most back wouldve hit but by the time he got there it closed. You have 10ths of seconds not seconds. It becomes more and more obvious why they didnt pay him as at best hes really just pedestrian for this offense. I would imagine RB is a high consideration for us next year, just hopefully never in the 1st round again for a slow plodding RB. Its crazy too about the Oline cause of all Indy's injuries. I knew this was one of those let down games cause we were supposed to take it easily, but i was willingly blind betting hoping that this would be the time that they change under Tomlin and that this team was ready to be different. Uggh. Edited Sunday at 10:22 PM by JustPlainNasty

Uggh. I think Najee also lacks vision. Patterson isn't much more of an athlete than Naj is, but he can see an opening a lot better.
Dcash4
We are just disappointing from a play calling standpoint. One of the most unique players in the league at QB but nothing they called isn’t capable of being run by Kyle Allen, outside of the QB power stuff which frankly isn’t that interesting. If you listen to anyone talk about higher level play callers one thing you will hear often is how they are able to put defenders in conflict. We aren’t doing any of that. Justin Fields is the ultimate run game conflict and our run game sucks because he is a planet and not the sun. This is an offense built for Wilson…athletic, but a normal drop back QB. Heard a lot about Tomlins desire for a running/mobile QB and we got nothing out of it. I know I personally get frustrated because it feels like there is so much good offensive philosophy out there but we almost refuse to take part.

Literally the first snap of the year was a fumble that got recovered. We probably have more than some teams will see in a season at the quarter mark. IMO, there’s probably nothing in the world that makes Tomlin lose sleep at night more than aborted snaps. If they aren’t going to play to get the most out of fields at all times, they are very unlikely to accept the lowest parts of his game this often. I could be very wrong (and honestly hope I am) but I see this being the week that Tomlin’s “Wilson is still the starter” schtick coming true. And that would be incredibly stupid. It’s weird because we saw Arthur Smith have “a lot” of success with Marcus Mariota running a lot of the stuff you’re talking about.
Blitzburgh
Predictability on early down is bad. Queen misses more tackles than anyone. Najee is not an NFL starting running back. OL can’t give Fields a clean pocket. When they do he does well. I hate complaining about officiating but it was and has been terrible. The bad calls and the egregious missed calls are getting old. The holding of TJ is awful.
Blitzburgh
Another example of Tomlin playing down to competition a losing a game we should have won.

Though 4 games Fields has a career low YPC and YPG in the ground. I really just don’t think he is Tomlin or Smith’s guy.
