According to KSTP’s Darren Wolfson, Minnesota isn’t proceeding thriftily with Stephon Gilmore. He said on SKOR North this week, “It’s on the player. I am led to believe the Vikings are willing to compensate him, and compensate him pretty darn well. The Vikings want him.”

Gilmore to Vikings boils down to whether he wants to play for a club that probably isn’t contending for a Super Bowl. He’ll turn 34 in September, and his NFL clock is ticking.

The Vikings announced that they have signed wide receiver Justin Hall to the 90-man roster. Hall signed with the Raiders after going undrafted in 2022, but has not appeared in any regular season action.

Punter Seth Vernon and wide receiver Ty James were waived to make room for the new arrivals. (including Stephon Gilmore.)

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't suit up week 1.

Lol. you retweet a post (re-X...?) saying it's iffy Addison will play Week 1, and then comment that you think it's iffy he'll play Week 1.

The Vikings claimed tight end Neal Johnson off of waivers. The Jets let Johnson go on Tuesday.

Johnson was undrafted out of Louisiana this year and he signed with the Rams in the spring. Johnson was waived early this month and he signed with the Jets last week. He had one catch for six yards in their preseason game against the Panthers

The Vikings have T.J. Hockenson on the physically unable to perform list and they have Josh Oliver, Robert Tonyan, Johnny Mundt, Nick Muse, Trey Knox, and N’Keal Harry on the current depth chart.
