UKTexans
Spent some time thinking about it, and I think I would even downgrade the movie. It did no service to the book I'm afraid. First Key - Different & worse in the movie Second Key - Different & worse in the movie Third key - Similar, worse in the movie Obtaining the quarter (extra life) - Different & worse in the movie Wade & Atr3mis dancing at the nightclub/fighting off the Sixers - Different & worse in the movie Wade, Art3mis, Aech etc. meeting in real life - Different & worse in the movie Daito - MURDERED IN REAL LIFE/Survives in movie Method of hacking into IOI - Different & worse in the movie Revealing Sorrento's confession - Different & worse in the movie I-Rok - Minor character in book, major bad guy in film? Havent seen it yet, but this was my assumption pre-release that book fans might find this lacking. Granted, thats true of a lot of adaptations, but this movie seemed to focus mostly on spectacle rather than substance.

Obviously its hard to turn 400 page books into movies, but they changed almost everything apart from the characters names.

It’s the same premise but a different story.

Forge
Saw it yesterday - very predictable and shallow, but I still enjoyed it considerably.

titansNvolsR#1
Love the book. Enjoyed the movie. If you expect the book, you'll be disappointed. So many neat things from my childhood thrown into the film.

devils1854
Walked out after about a hour. Awful. Bad, Meh. Its nothing but fan service. They sacrifice an actual plot for this? Its bad. CGI isnt even that special.
