Kid looks like a damn playmaker!  Solid in coverage, can fly around and make plays on the football.  Good closing speed and has good athletic ability for sure, could be an awesome pickup as a potential ILB and might be Brothers could be on his way out in the future especially with his recent suspension for the 1st four games.

First thought I had. We could cut Brothers if need be, or keep him inactive even after the suspension.

Yeah I have not watched Cal play a ton last year, but Downs highlights are impressive, kid is causing fumbles, getting INTs, getting tackles for loss and is really active.  Will be very interesting how he does and honestly Brothers has disappointed after coming out as this super tackling machine from the SEC, has done not much on the team so far.

Could be a great pickup late at a need position I think.

With the 225th pick, the Minnesota Vikings made their seventh-round selection, selecting the 6’3”, 245-pound native of Mountlake Terrace, Washington, whose stellar collegiate career was cut short during his senior season because of injury.

Downs led the Bears with a career-high 84 tackles during his junior year in 2016 and was in the running for Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year prior to his 2017 injury in a game against Washington State.

He received Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors in two of Cal’s first three games last season and was nominated as a team captain for the remainder of the season between the team’s sixth and seventh games.

There’s nothing listed as far as I can see. NFL Draft Scout anticipated his average time to be 4.82, but that’s it. There’s also this from NDS on Downs.
