JAF-N72EX
This isn't even close. Even different era's put aside. I'll take Rice. The best NFL player of all-time. What he did for the game at his position will never be matched.
tom cody
Both are good players but give me Jerry Rice here.
Danger
Jerry Rice is indisputably the best player at his position in NFL history, perhaps the best player in NFL history period. Jim Brown in a fringe top 5 guy at his position.

Mostly due to the NFL being ruled by the running game and one back systems for so long. So I don’t count this against Jim Brown. I never watched either, though, outside of a couple replayed games (Rice) or NFL Films highlights (Brown), so i cant say.
Buddyboy
In Brown's era there wasn't sufficient time to throw very often. Jim Brown was the classic fullback in an era now gone.
lancerman
I'm kind of surprised the reaction so far has been "it's definitely Jerry Rice no question". In most football circles Brown is like a god. Like he's the guy the players in the HOF will acknowledge they treat as the first among equals. August4th
Jim brown stats are insane when you take into account 12 and 14 gm seasons and him retiring early
