Idk, i was thinking the complete opposite that i dont even have him in my next 3

i went Mack, Miller, Jalen and probably some others too before Gronk

I guess I'm looking at it simply as "best player" and not "best player with some positional value factored in."

The fact that Gronk is both an elite receiver and blocker make him a truly generational talent. I'd probably have him at #3 after Rodgers and Donald.

I think you have to factor in positional value and health too. Plenty of generational talents have missed the HOF because of health, i think that has to be factored in here too. I think an elite pass rusher and shutdown CB have more impact on the game even though Gronk can block and catch

How does positional value affect how good of a player these guys are? The only reason position should come in is to keep special teamers off the list imo. There's no reason the top 20 should necessarily be only half QBs with some WRs, RBs, pass rushers, and shut down corners sprinkled in.

So, people can just vote for one player three times, are we supposed to not do that?

If you do, your vote is thrown out. Admittedly I haven't checked for this yet.

Also I’m assuming health is a factor bc JJ Watt isnt even listed

I could include him, but generally speaking I know most people have soured on him due to his health.

  1st 2nd 3rd TOTAL
Von Miller 7 9 8 47
Khalil Mack 8 6 8 44
Rob Gronkowski 9 3 5 38
Luke Keuchly 4 8 7 35
Drew Brees 3* 2* 3* 16*
Le'Veon Bell 2 5 1 17
Jalen Ramsey 2 4 3 17
Russel Wilson 3 1 2 13

The selection is Von Miller. In a VERY tight race.

I will be tentatively putting Calais Campbell back on the poll in his place unless you all think someone else belongs there.

Others to consider in this position:
Chandler Jones
Cameron Jordan
Everson Griffin
(still more)

Half QBs is absurd though, I'm not saying that at all but there is a drop off from the top 3-5 to the rest for sure. Same thing can be said of the other positions as well. To me its about their impact on the game. A beast MLB can have a major impact too but the best in LK has been hurt some too lately whereas someone like P52 would probably be getting more consideration at this point back in his day. OL are really tough to judge when up against other "stat drive" type players which is in part why i think only 3 are listed

After Campbell or before, either way it would be accurate. Personally, I'd probably take Griffen this season but it's basically a threeway tie with Von Miller in there.
