Yup. 2K gets worse and worse every single year. I still buy the game every year because it's the best basketball game out. My impressions of this game so far is that it's bad and unless you're a hardcore 2K player, you should just stick with the last game you bought. I played Live 18 and the demo for Live 19 and there are aspect about the game play that is superior to 2K. The crazy thing about Live is that it was $35 if you pre-ordered. I haven't played the full game of Live 19, so I'm not sure if it's worth buying or maybe wait until Black Friday and get it for cheaper. That's truly how I enjoy playing the game the most; however, that is not impactful online so I'm going to get crushed. grubs10 Posted September 10, 2018 Share Posted September 10, 2018 Ive only played my career so far (mostly an offline guy) and I'm just about to play my first game in the NBA so I've only played the prelude extended but the story is infinitely better than last year both in plot and characters. Its still corny and filled with moments of 2k trying way too hard, but I'll take a character who entered the draft because he thought he was gonna make it but ends up going undrafted and has to start his career in dominating in china than a guy who quit basketball to be a dj and then ends up making an nba team off a street ball tournament. Plus the fact that you can skip every cut scene is huge since Ive tried out three different builds so far and haven't seen one cutscene yet that I wanted to see again. I know its giving them credit for finally doing things they should have done all along but it makes the game so much easier to play (I mean in terms of actually wanting to play not difficulty). Its funny, when every decision you make about your game isn't based on microtransactions and advertisements I'm willing to be more forgiving of cheesey storylines or stupid animations. The first time you walk in the barber shop in 19, the new barber character makes a joke about how the old owner used to overcharge people for haircuts or some ish... Its like 2k, how do you think you can get away with saying that and I'm gonna laugh along with you when you are still charging the 3 people that are still playing 2k18 to get a damn haircut when you coulda changed that whenever you wanted. MKnight82 Posted September 11, 2018 Share Posted September 11, 2018 I made a 7'3" Defensive Center as my myplayer and I've enjoyed it so far. Finished the Prelude and I'm about 6 games into my NBA career. I'm plowing through the games now at 5 min quarters just to get through these, then I'll probably change it to 8 min quarters when I become a starter because the stats aren't realistic with this short of games. I got annoyed with it quickly since it was all about microtransations and the shooting mechanics were ATROCIOUS. Is this worth getting? I'm a hardcore 2K player, so I have to have the game every year. To me, this game has been pretty much downhill since this gen consoles (Xbox One and PS4).
