Can't really put the blame or fame on any particular player or unit in this one. Everyone did enough to win. It wasn't quite as nailbiting as the box score indicated, I was up 9 with 2:30 left they marched down the field and scored a touchdown. Recovered the onside kick and got it down to the goal line with my running game. Team Stats Stat Western Kentucky Troy Final Score 29 31 First Downs 18 23 Total Offense 425 426 Rushing Yards 39 136 Rushing TDs 1 2 Passing Yards 386 290 Passing TDs 1 2 3rd Down % 7-14 8-11 4th Down % 1-1 0-0 Turnovers 1 1 PR Yards 13 0 KR Yards 133 34 Total Yards 571 460 You'll notice for having 29 points they only have 2 Touchdowns. Yeah in the first half and start of the 3rd quarter, we held them to a field goal on literally every drive. My offense, while not quite as consistent made the most of it's chances except when Mendoza bombed it towards the endzone and it was picked off. Henderson couldn't see 2 feet in front of him to start the game and would run towards defenders, I swear, but he figured it out at some point. Run defense was stout. Pressure is on in this game since I have a whole bunch of prospects visiting. Scoring Summary 1st Q 2nd Q 3rd Q 4th Q Final Marshall 7 7 0 0 14 Troy 10 14 7 7 38 Oh nvm lol. Turns out their MVP was the officiating crew, because they called a fumble that was returned for a TD on a play that wasn't actually a fumble and it wouldn't let me review it (I hadn't opened instant replay even). We dominated in each and every phase of the game today. It was a blowout even bigger than the boxscore if you ask me. Including a series where Trevon Sanders had sacks on 3 consecutive plays. Dude was just unstoppable today. BTW MKnight, this is why I like running the 4 D-Lineman instead of the 3-3-5. Henderson and Mendoza also had tremendous games, aside from the INT and the "FUMBLE". Still salty about that tbh. Y'all are Thunder, we Lightning. Maybe he just didn't want to take sacks or something? He wasn't making good reads? I don't know, just hope this doesn't become a consistent issue. It didn't help that JaMarius Henderson got injured early into the first quarter. And BJ Smith left the game a couple times as well in the 2nd half. My running game ended up being completely putrid aside from the 1 50 yard run by BJ Smith right after Henderson got injured to start the 2nd quarter. Defense struggled a bit due to the lack of pressure they could create in this game. I wouldn't call this result "Golden" ahahahahah puns.... but we got the win.

AH but these don't tell the story of the game. We lost Freshman Phenom Ryan Mendoza on 2nd and goal on our 2nd drive. IS IT SERIOUS OH GOD I DON'T WANT TO LOSE HIM FOR THE SEASON. It seems to just be a pulled quad, he's out for the game, but it won't keep him off the field for an extended period of time. Alright, back to the task at hand. I did not need to lose my star QB against a good opponent. Jamarius Henderson got into the end zone on the next play. 7-0 at this point. 4 plays later, my other stud Freshman FS Cedric Rushing gets himself a nasty Pick6. Starting to think that despite Mendoza going down I can just coast. Even with backup Kaleb Barker I can just run out the clock with a slow tempo.
