No. I don't recall who was tweeting it, but Boston apparently wanted to stay above the cap so they'd have the FULL MLE (~$9M) as opposed to the Room Exception (~$4.5M) and I think it had something to do with the ability to re-sign Al Horford. They literally dumped Kristaps Porzingis for the right to sign Elfrid Payton, Reggie Bullock, Bobby Portis, and Taj Gibson to big 1 year deals.
