The optimal lineup would've been to add shooting and another perimeter player that could create offense with that other max slot.

Ah you got me.... I didn't realize the Lakers didn't add shooting or that there is still a lot of good play making perimeter players left on the market to sign.

They certainly have the potential to be the best in the West given their overall talent level. However, there's too many unknowns right now to annoint them as anything better than the fourth best team in the West (definitely putting them over the Rockets).

Warriors get dropped because Klay probably won't be back until mid season.

As of right now:

1. Clippers

2. Nuggets (just because they've retained all their pieces from last year)

3. Utah

4. Lakers

5. Houston

6. Portland

7. Spurs

8. Kings

You guys aren’t serious, Warriors not even top 8?

What good play making perimeter players are on the market still?

At some point in a competitive 6 or 7 game series though...

Yes, and in the critical moments of those 6-7 game series they will be playing against guys like Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James and Steph Curry.  You're just not winning a championship with Donovan Mitchell as your best player - not next season.  Mitchell is a nice young players, but he's truly nowhere near that stratosphere.  Unless he takes a Godly jump and becomes that player, it's just not going to happen for the Jazz.  They're a really good team, though.  They just lack the superstar they need to truly compete for a championship.

At this point someone should probably check in with CWood. Dude might've had a breakdown

It's humorous but same time like, the Lakers are still the second best team in the NBA playoffs so...

This coming from an impartial Celtics fanboy.

The Jazz might have the best record in basketball next season, but they're going to get bounced from the playoffs.

LeBron and AD are 4-8 against western teams in the playoffs.

Yea, that's insane.  Warriors are still going to be really good.... and even better when Klay comes back.  People must have forgotten how dominant Steph Curry is.

Exactly, we're on the same board.

You’re going to ignore that Mitchell averaged 27 when healthy? Conley averaged 21 last season? Bojan averaged 21 on good efficiency when he was the #1 option in Indiana?

AD has never proven he can win or lead a good team when it counts.
