Rockice_8
Anthony and McClellan seem to be solid special teamers at best. I think one of them will make it to strengthen that unit which is a good thing for our coverage team. I think we are set at LB with Mosley, Hewitt, Cashman, Langi. Those 4 can handle the ILB spot. Luvu, Jenkins, Polite and Basham handle OLB duties. Copeland seems like the odd man out especially now that he is suspended and given that even Kaufusi was taking some OLB reps too away from him. But I will remind people of this down the road if I was correct
famousj
What is done is done. The GM who ran the draft is GONE. Get over it and lets support the players the Jets currently have. Quinnen Williams is considered by many people to be the best player in the draft.

True, but i’ll be watching the careers of Q, Allen and Oliver for the next several years anyway. However the careers i’m most interested in following is Polite. I had Edge RusherChase Winovich with a first round grade because of his college production and high twitch scores at the combine. He was still available to us in the third but we went for Polite instead. From what I have read Polite is doing well in practice but it hasn’t translated to the game. So far Chase is doing it on the field with 3 sacks and 8 hurries. Of course playing for Belichick is probably an unfair advantage lol. Sandwhich2
I'm annoyed at how they're using Polite so far. He looks uncomfortable because they're making him play the entire LB position rather than letting him work on his pass rush game which got him drafted in the first place. He doesn't look like he's comfortable at all. Practice reports make it sound like he does well in drills but not necessarily in scrimmage. I still have hope for him but I'm afraid Gregg Williams is just stubborn and will hurt his development. Yuck. I just do not like Gregg. If we did... it better be a perennial 10 sack guy. Polite needed to learn the edge position more than just rushing the passer. And that’s what you see the staff making him do so he’s not a liability out there when we do use him.
NYJets4716
SOme are predicting Darnold to be a fantasy stud this year. Just watching him in preseason, he just seems to have a feel for the game. His pocket presence and athletic ability. Its gonna be fun watching him play with LeVeon Bell in the backfield and our starting OL out there. Just need to get Chris Herndon back, that is a big miss cause I can tell Darnold loves throwing to Herndon. This Jets offense is gonna be sneaky good this year, mainly because I think Darnold is gonna end up being one of the better QBs in football. He will thrive in a fast tempo offense, that Gase couldn't run in Miami because of the lack of talent. I think Anderson and Crowder are gonna have big years. JetsandI
I think it is Connor Hughes but his article suggested that Jachai Polite may be cut basing TC and preseason game performance. If so, it would be a laughing matter since Maccagnan and his company claimed he was 2nd best pass rushing prospect in the 2019 draft class. Oh God, I do hope Joe Douglas is an actual protagonist for Jets.

I don't disagree that he needs to learn how to set the edge and be an all around player, but he's going to take up a roster spot so you might as well let him play situationally at what he's good at while he does learn to be an all around player. Just rarely saw him rushing the passes in pre season. 3rd and long and he's dropping into coverage.
jetfuel34
I think you guys miss the point of what Q. Williams can do. He will push the middle making it A LOT easier for the edge guys.

We’ve had a star studded DL for a very long time... and it hasn’t made anything easier for our edges over that time.

However, it will be short lived as long as Jets keep 3-4 look. In "fact", Darron Lee could register 10 sacks behind Big Q. lol.
