Carli Lloyd Kicking 55 Yard FGs at Eagles Training Camp

Won't ever happen. By and large a female kicker would never be good enough at the game outside of kicking to justify her place.

Generally speaking women are slower, weaker, and more fragile. Just because she can nail a 55yarder doesn't mean she can chase down a returner, make a tackle on KO coverage, or absorb a block without getting broken. Plus there's the question of KOs, would teams need a make KOS to secure consistent touchbacks?

Essentially, a female kicker would have to be BETTER at FG kicking than your average male kicker to make up for potential weaknesses in other areas.

Then there's the Tebow/Michael Sam/Colin Kaepernick factor - the drama and attention simply wouldn't be worth it. Yes, Team A will get some good PR for signing the first female NFL player...but you also make your training camp a circus. And what if she sucks? Or doesn't suck, but isn't as good as the male kicking prodigy who just dropped into your lap in the draft? The moment she is cut/criticized/replaced you open your coaches/team/organization/fans up to unfriendly press, accusations of misogyny etc.

And lets not even go into the #MeToo issue. Even a sniff of that  - true or just tabloid BS - could destroy a locker room and waste a season.

Yeah because there's never been a male kicker in the NFL who was small and slight...
Cairo Santos is 5'8", 160 lbs.
JoJo Natson (Rams WR) is 5'7", 153 lbs.
Carli Lloyd is 5'7", 145 lbs.

Lindsey Horan (a USWNT midfielder) is 5'9", 168 lbs.

Don't tell me there aren't women in pro soccer who couldn't deal with the rigors of being a kicker in the NFL.

I don't get why more NFL teams look at soccer players for potential kickers.

Yeah I have no doubt there are a ton of professional soccer players that could play kicker in the NFL if they trained for it. For many though, it wouldn't be worth it as American Football to many soccer players around the world is an afterthought, and Kicker's don't generally make all that much money in the NFL.

So what? You give a woman access to the same training staffs and nutritionists that NFL players use, and she can absolutely hold her own. Certainly in a less physically demanding position like kicker. Maybe even at DB.
