mse326
Impressed with Corbin being able to dig down after that first inning and really keep it close. Offense and bullpen were pretty bad for the Nats today though.
Slateman
Bullpen was pretty much what it has been all season. I'm pretty sure Rendon has checked out. Between the contract offer (which I'm guessing he didn't like) and him suddenly being thrust into the spotlight with MVP discussions, he's been garbage at the plate. And he and Soto are pretty much the offense.
Slateman
Nats team in a snapshot right there. Dont know if Eaton bunted in his own, or Davey called for it. But I swear, no one on this team can bunt worth a damn. Once you get through Rendon and Soto, the lineup has no teeth.
Slateman
Gotta hand it to Davey Martinez, he pulled all the right strings tonight.

Didnt see any of the game, so have no clue how it went down - but the Nats wrestled home field from the second best team in the league (overall and home field). Who's pitching game 3? Sanchez? RaiderX
Start of game 3 looked discouraging, but offense finally woke up last inning.
Slateman
What's it like to have clutch hitting and a quality bullpen?

Tony Kornheiser (a strong Nats fan) said on PTI that Scherzer had to go 7 innings tonight then hand the ball off to Hudson - cause if he went any shorter and had to hand the ball to (anybody else....) it would be like lighting a match at an oil refinery Good luck tying things up tonight.
