I thought of them because I feel like they already have the type of established defense he likes.
iknowcool
Rivera is a great man. He would be great to put the Browns team on the right track. My only concern would be the OL. The OL was consistently a bad part of the team, not sure you want to continue Mayfield down that road. IMO his best fit would be actually be the Cowboys. Great DL, which is needed for his defense. Already an established OL, which was his biggest issue here aside from maybe the safety position.
FinSting
Was this move on Josh Shaw's parlay?
EvilenFroggen
I, personally, would love him on the Jaguars. They’re my favorite AFC team anyway and I’ll be pulling for Ron the rest of his career. He runs a tight locker room without being overbearing. Don’t know if they still need that but it couldn’t hurt. Zithers2
We kept Marty Hurney so I don't see the point in this firing. Team will continue to be mediocre.

So far. Reading between the lines of “bringing in a younger guy to help,” that sounds volatile.

Hiring an assistant GM and saying Hurney is a "great evaluator of college talent" sure seems like a "Hurney is staying" move/comment. He was a far bigger issue than Rivera. Speculation is Steelers GM Kevin Colbert will be a top target. If that is the case then I see Hurney being transitioned more to the scouting department. Nabbs4u
Quote Reuben Frank ✔@RoobNBCS Ron Rivera and Doug Pederson are good friends. So are their wives. Would Riverboat Ron be a good fit here if he doesn't get a head coaching job?http://bit.ly/2OMvTwx Would it make sense for Ron Rivera to return to Philly? Ron Rivera, head coach of the Panthers, was fired Tuesday. Given the close relationship he and Doug Pederson have, would it make sense for him to return to Philly?
