Why do you think we all have borderline alcoholism?

Between the draft, watching for bidding deadlines, and write up anxiety...it's awesome!

I think the best part of watching you draft is the people who worked with you also become great drafters for their own teams.

I'm proud of my coaching tree, but dont think I had too much to do with their success other than showing the basic ropes.

2015 Draft Recap:

Berlin Blitzkrieg:
1.1 - Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
3.10 - Ronald Darby, CB, Florida State
3.16 - Eli Harold, EDGE, Virginia
4.17 - Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon
5.1 - T.J. Yeldon, RB, Alabama
7.5 - Arie Kouandjio, OG, Alabama
7.18 - Justin Hardy, WR, East Carolina

Rags strayed from the SEC but it still didn't do him much good. I still have hope for Winston NFL-wise but he certainly never became a BDL caliber starter. Darby has been a decent player and Yeldon has had his moments and provides good depth but nobody else really amounted to much.

Rome Eternals:
1.2 - Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama
1.6 - Dante Fowler, EDGE, Florida
2.13 - Malcom Brown, INT, Texas
4.2 - Paul Dawson, LB, TCU
5.16 - Hau'oli Kikaha, EDGE, Washington
6.4 - Rashad Greene, WR, Florida State
7.4 - Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor

Pretty decent draft by Rome. Cooper has been solid and it looks like Fowler might finally be living up to his draft status. Brown is a solid player as well. The rest of the guys never amounted to much but I've learned that from the 4th round on you should just be happy if these guys are still on a team, let alone contributing.

Boston Beserkers:
1.3 - Leonard Williams, INT, USC
1.8 - Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
1.12 - Shane Ray, EDGE, Missouri
1.13 - Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Missouri
1.17 - Marcus Peters, CB, Washington
4.3 - Benardrick McKinney, LB, Mississippi State
4.14 - Tevin Coleman, RB, Indiana
4.18 - Trey Flowers, EDGE, Arkansas
5.2 - Alex Carter, CB, Stanford
5.8 - Steven Nelson, CB, Oregon State
7.1 - Darren Waller, WR, Georgia Tech

This was a really good draft from Boston here. Williams may not be a top 3 pick kind of player but he's been a good player in the pros. Gurley's knees not withstanding, I think he was a good pick at 8th overall as well as he had a really high peak as one of the better RBs in the league. Ray and DGB didn't pan out but Peters was a nice pick to round out his first round. Then he ended up getting five solid players in the back half of the draft with McKinney, Coleman, Flowers, Nelson, and Waller. This was a really good draft.

Orlando Skunk Apes:
1.4 - Vic Beasley, EDGE, Clemson
2.1 - Jalen Collins, CB, LSU
2.4 - Danny Shelton, INT, Washington
2.6 - Nelson Agholor, WR, USC
2.17 - Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami
3.2 - D.J. Humphries, OT, Florida
3.3 - Owamagbe Odighizuwa, EDGE, UCLA
4.12 - Henry Anderson, INT, Stanford
5.4 - David Johnson, RB, Northern Illinois
5.14 - Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska

Pretty so-so draft for Orlando. Beasley started off well but has been garbage the last few years. Collins was a bust and Agholor and Dorsett were both dissapointing. Shelton was a nice pick as was Humphries. Other than that a bunch of nothing outside of David Johnson. Johnson was really good but is completely washed now so again, pretty so-so.

Las Vegas Gamblers:
1.5 - Kevin White, WR, West Virginia
2.2 - Landon Collins, S, Alabama
3.7 - Preston Smith, EDGE, Mississippi State
3.17 - Michael Bennett, INT, Ohio State
5.7 - Duke Johnson, RB, Miami
7.3 - Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA
7.8 - Daryl Williams, OT, Oklahoma

Decent draft from Las Vegas. White was a huge bust, Bennett couldn't stay healthy, and Hundley is not worth anything BDL-wise, but the rest of the draft worked out pretty well. Collins is a decent safety who has a role in the pros. Smith is a beast. Johnson is a nice change of pace guy. Williams has been inconsistent but decent mostly. All in all I'd say it was a pretty good draft.

London Knights
1.7- Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
2.5 - Cameron Erving, C, Florida State
2.8 - Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon
3.6 - Quentin Rollins, CB, Miami (OH)
6.10 - Senquez Golson, CB, Ole Miss
7.9 - Tony Lippett, WR, Michigan State
7.12 - Jeff Heuerman, TE, Ohio State
7.15 - Vince Mayle, WR, Washington State

I appreciate the strategy of this draft even if it didn't work out. London got their QB and then tried to protect him and get him weapons. Unfortunately they picked the wrong guys. Really nobody here in this class ended up turning out to be anything.

Sacramento Gladiators:
1.8 - Bud Dupree, EDGE, Kentucky
2.3 - Breshad Perriman, WR, UCF
2.12 - Eric Rowe, CB, Utah
3.5 - Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota
4.5 - Xavier Cooper, INT, Washington State
4.8 - Donovan Smith, OT, Penn State
4.10 - Tre McBride, WR, William & Mary
4.11 - Sammie Coates, WR, Auburn
7.10 - Jamon Brown, OG, Louisville

This is a really interesting draft to me because in a few years I could see this being one of the better drafts or a complete bust. Dupree, Perriman, and Smith have all had very inconsistent careers so far but have also shown promise. Rowe has been solid. Maxx Williams hasn't done much but still somehow started 10 games last year so I guess look out for him too.

Wichita Coyotes:
1.10 - Devante Parker, WR, Louisville
1.18 - Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State
5.18 - Jaquiski Tartt, S, Samford
6.11 - Lorenzo Mauldin, EDGE, Louisville
6.12 - Buck Allen, RB, USC
6.18 - Rob Havenstein, OT, Wisconsin
7.17 - Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State

Parker breaking out after some disappointing first few seasons really helps here. Waynes is solid as is Havenstein. Tartt has been inconsistent but worth keeping around. This was an ok draft.

Auckland Aces:
1.11 - Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
2.16 - Randy Gregory, EDGE, Nebraska
3.14 - Devin Funchess, WR, Michigan
4.1 - P.J. Williams, CB, Florida State
5.10 - Jake Ryan, LB, Michigan
5.11 - Kwon Alexander, LB, LSU
5.15 - Marcus Hardison, INT, Arizona State
7.6 - Jeremy Langford, RB, Michigan State

Some tough breaks in this group. Gregory has had issues staying on the field but has done well when active. Funchess has disappointed and Williams has gone downhill after a strong start as well. Melvin Gordon was a good pick and Alexander ended up being a great value pick in the 5th round.

Gotham Gashslayers:
1.14 - Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford
2.11 - Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State
3.11 - Arik Armstead, INT, Oregon
3.12 - T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh
4.6 - Chris Conley, WR, Georgia
4.13 - A.J. Cann, OG, South Carolina
6.3 - Mike Davis, RB, South Carolina
6.13 - Taiwan Jones, LB, Michigan State
7.14 - Clayton Geathers, S, UCF

Pretty good draft here by Gotham. Peat was been ok at OG which is fine at pick 14. Strong was a disappointment but then Gotham got some more decent players with Armstead, Conley, and Cann. No real stand out players but sometimes getting a few solid guys is pretty good too.

Dublin Dullahan:
1.15 - Byron Jones, CB, UConn
3.15 - Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State
4.4 - Grady Jarrett, INT, Clemson
4.16 - Cedric Ogbuehi, OT, Texas A&M
5.6 - Nate Orchard, EDGE, Utah
6.2 - Josh Shaw, CB, USC
6.5 - David Cobb, RB, Minnesota

Most of these players never amounted to much but the Byron Jones and Grady Jarrett picks really make up for the rest of the mediocrity. Those were two great picks, especially the Jarrett one.

Compton Black Panthers:
1.16 - Brandon Scherff, OG, Iowa
2.10 - Jordan Phillips, INT, Oklahoma
3.18 - Denzel Perryman, LB, Miami
4.7 - D'Joun Smith, CB, FAU
5.3 - Stefon Diggs, WR, Maryland
6.14 - Josue Matias, OG, Florida State

This was a decent draft from Compton. Scherff was really good value at 1.16 and then Phillips is finally starting to come on. Stefon Diggs was one of the best picks of the draft and I think to this day my biggest BDL draft regret was not taking him.

Los Angeles Rogues:
2.7 - Eric Kendricks, LB, UCLA
2.14 - Eddie Goldman, INT, Florida State
3.13 - Carl Davis, INT, Iowa
5.13 - Clive Walford, TE, Miami
6.1 - Ali Marpet, OG, Hobart

I don't think I'm being a homer when I say this was one of the better drafts this year. Davis and Walford were nothing but Kendricks and Goldman were two good gets. Marpet all the way in the 6th was quite the steal as well.

Camden Hood Rats:
2.9 - Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest
3.1 - La'el Collins, OG, LSU
3.9 - Shaq Thompson, LB, Washington

Jlash once again showing why he's one of the better drafters in the BDL. Only three picks, none until mid-way through the second and he comes away with three good contributors. Really nice drafting.

Rhein Fire:
2.15 - DaMarious Randall, S, Arizona State
2.18 - Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami
3.4 - Stephone Anthony, LB, Clemson
4.15 - Danielle Hunter, EDGE, LSU
5.5 - Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas State
6.15 - Kenny Bell, WR, Nebraska
6.17 - Davis Tull, EDGE, Tennessee-Chattanooga
7.11 - James O'Shaughnessy, TE, Illinois State
7.13 - DeAndre Smelter, WR, Georgia Tech
7.16 - Jacoby Glenn, CB, UCF

Not a lot on the back end of this draft but the first 5 rounds were pretty good for Rhein. Flowers and Anthony aren't any good, although Flowers has shown some signs of life recently. Randall was a decent pick. Danielle Hunter is up there as one of the best picks of the draft and Lockett was a really good pick in round 5 as well. Great draft from Rhein.

Seoul Dragons:
3.8 - Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State
5.12 - Hroniss Grasu, C, Oregon
5.17 - Wes Saxton, TE, South Alabama
6.6 - Dezmin Lewis, WR, Central Arkansas

Other than one good year from Ajayi, Seoul got absolutely nothing out of this draft. That's just what happens when you've only got these late picks.

Cuba Smugglers:
4.9 - Laken Tomlinson, OG, Duke
5.9 - Mario Edwards, EDGE, Florida State
6.7 - Garry Peters, CB, Clemson
7.2 - James Sample, S, Louisville
7.7 - Cody Prewitt, S, Ole Miss

Another class where it was all later picks but Cuba did a bit better. Tomlinson is a very good OG and Edwards is a depth guy at best. Overall pretty decent for the picks he was working with.

Chicago Wendigos:
6.8 - Tre Jackson, OG, Florida State
6.9 - Anthony Harris, S, Virginia
6.6 - Gabe Wright, INT, Auburn

Only three 6th rounders to work with and they still ended up with Anthony Harris. Not bad at all.

You're grading some of these a bit too favourably imo. Like Sacramento's 2015 has no BDL starting level players and Dupree + Smith are probably the only two guys who should be on rosters (and I guess Perriman since he's the Jets no.1 now).

Idk, I think going through these drafts my standards have drastically decreased. Seeing how rare it is for good players to come out of the later rounds. And as for Sacramento I never even said their draft was good, just interesting because they have a couple of guys who have been inconsistent but shown talent and so in a couple of years they could have a nice class is they improve or be absolute garbage if they don't.

I miss filling gopher holes with water and sending them to forever night night land with a shovel when they pop their little heads out.

I've done that with moles.  They tear up the yard.
