pnies20
He needs to retire and start a youth football camp. Teach the kids all the fundamentals.

Completely ridiculous and obvious targeting by the league Repeat offenders should face escalating punishment until they learn, just like everything else in life

Well, after the Carr thread and you saying I overrate certains talents, I’m not sure how well you think of this statement, but it’s universal among all Raider Fans, Carr Supporters or not. He was a Pro Bowl talent in the four games he played for us and was the leader of the defense. Outside of the Chiefs quarter where Mahomes annihilated our backup FS, our defense was tremendous those first four games, main reason being Burfict. PFF had like a 86-87 grade on him if I remember correctly, not that I care much about PFF, but there is no other site that gives out grades. I’m not going to completely discount whatever you say because we’ve disagreed. That wouldn’t make sense. If he’s still playing at a high level then I’m sure the team will welcome him back. Although if it were up to me, he’d have been gone a while ago.

His hit on Doyle was just the NFL looking for any reason to get him out, if the Raiders knew the NFL had that mindset, they wouldn’t of signed him, because he was a Pro Bowler those four games. Mayock/Gruden/Tons of Non Raider Fans/And Media people including Rich Eisen thought the hit on Doyle was not a dirty hit what so ever. I actually agree on the Doyle hit, just not sure I feel he should have been reinstated the previous time. In this situation, I agree the League overreacted but to be fair, Burfict is the reason they're overreacting. He has legitimately earned previous punishments and put himself in the center of the bullseye.

If you make violent helmet to helmet contact, you’re out forever”. Something like this. It was so unclear going into the season. NFL won’t do this though. They make punishments purely based off Media Initial Reaction. Literally.

But I also think it can be argued that guys like Jadeveon Clowney have more recently had similar intentional dirty hits and received 0 punishment. It's so inconsistent. You also cant be suspending him for incidental/accidental helmet contact. Unintended Contact does happen and to suspend someone for it would be ridiculous. A Fine, that's whatever but you can't end someone's career over something that was unintended

The NFL was just head-hunting for him, no pun intended. I wish he could come back to us this year, but any helmet to helmet graze, and he’s getting a life ban. It’s not worth the risk How old is Burfict? It seems like he has been in the league for a long time. Is age starting to become an issue for him anyway?
