Create the best possible Vikings team with a few stipulations:

1. Had to play at least 2 seasons for us

2. This player had to have actually played for us that season (you cant have prime Favre. If you pick him, its assumed you mean 09-10 Favre when he was a Viking)

QB: Sir Francis Tarkenton by a wide margin

RB(2): Adrian (He's loose!) Peterson & Chuck Foreman (likely Smith had he not retired early)

FB: Bill Boom Boom Brown

WR(3): Moss and Carter easily, 3rd is a toss up between a bunch, I loved Sammy White so I pick him

TE: Steve Jordan

LT: Steussie

LG: McDaniel

C: Tinglehoff

RG: Hutch (I know he played on the left, but HOF)

RT: Ron Yary

DE(3): This is tough to limit to 3.....Eller, Doleman, Allen

DT(2): Page and Randel

OLB(2): Matt Blair and Barr

MLB: Siemen but Kendricks is gaining ground

CB(2): Bobby Bryant and Xavier

S(2): also tough to limit to 2 but Krause couldn't tackle well so.... Smith and Browner

K: Cox

P: Coleman

LS: sorry, I don't really have an opinion

KR: Patterson if we just talk returns, but I pick Harvin for offense and returns

PR: similar to kr, Sherels for returns, but gimme Anthony Carter for offense and returns

I am really surprised that Tarkenton and Page aren't unanimous selections!

Favre may have only played 2 seasons for the Vikings, but he did win a Super Bowl during his career and his 2009 season was better than any single season Tarkenton had. If I'm building the best Vikings team to win one game, I'm picking Favre.

The yutes are not as wise as the ancients!

Well, some of them seem to think that you have to have watched them play to put them on the list.  I never saw either one of them actually play, since I was far too young, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be automatics.  I never saw Jim Brown play either, but that doesn't mean he can't be considered the best RB of all-time.

You can't really compare what Tarkenton did to Favre from a straight statistical view, because the eras and rules (and workout regimens) were so different...to the point, they really could be considered different games.  I bet Tarkenton, under the rules that Favre played under, could have been just as effective as him.  In fact, if you look up Tarkenton on pro-football-reference, who is Tarkenton's comparison?  Brett Favre.
