Jalen Thompson might be the greatest overrated no-name defensive back in Tecmo Bowl history. That this Browns team keeps winning in spite of absolute dog**** quarterback play is incredible.

Fascinating defensive struggle in the Titans-Rams game. Really bizarre play-calling by the Rams in the 4th qtr probably cost them any chance of a comeback.

Jalen Thompson was a supplemental draft pick rookie last year that played some really, really good football. He's actually the reason that I DON'T want the Cards to trade for Jamal Adams. Like, yeah, Adams is a type of safety that we don't have, but the Cardinals' style, the safety position already has playmakers and you're pulling one of them off the field to put Jamal on. Meanwhile, we also have Simmons, who is a really strong choice.

But yeah. Going back to even before the 2017 draft, Budda Baker was widely-regarded as a Honey badger clone, and he's been exactly that for the Cardinals. Meanwhile, Thompson is very similar to Marcus Williams as far as his style goes, and his level of play is already good as an extremely young player who left school early and didn't even get picked up by the team until super late due to being a supplemental draft pick. Meanwhile, you have one of the best edge rushers in football in Chandler Jones, two strong secondary pass rushers in Kennard and Phillips, an elite #1 corner, a solid veteran #2, a young #3 with upside, a #4 that impressed in flashes in limited playing time, two well-regarded ILBs in Jordan Hicks and DeVondre Campbell, and now Isaiah Simmons. This defense was the Achilles heel of the team last year, but the secondary was decimated by injuries and suspension. They're getting those guys back AND added a ton of quality new guys this off-season, while adding a true #1 WR to a borderline top-10 offense, both statistically and on film last year. That offense also had a massive number of injuries.

And people wonder why the Cardinals have so much hype.

Arizona was dead last in YPG allowed and 5th-worst in PPG allowed. The offense wasn't in the top-20 of YPG and was very average in PPG. Calm tf down.

Average offense after being the very worst in the league before, AND with the #2 WR, #3 WR, #4 WR, #5 WR, #6 WR, #1 TE, #2 TE, #1 RT, #2 RT, #1 RB, #2 RB, #3 RB, and #4 RB all missing 3 or more games. If you remove Kirk and Justin Murray, all of those players missed at least 6 games.

It could be very easily argued that most of those players weren't better than the guys who replaced them anyways.
