Pass Rush and Tackles since 2018

ProFootballReference since 2018 has had these cool advanced stats. All their defensive ones are here, and included on every player page. In the above excel doc, I put the top 100 in sacks in each of the past 2 seasons, and then all players with at least 50 tackles for each season. For pass rush, I set it up so we could assign 1 number to a players pass rush proficiency. You can sort by pressures (sacks + knockdowns + hurries) on PFR, but the issue there is that a sack is worth much more than a hurry. How much? Well that's why I left the document editable, you can play around with it and assign your own value to each stats. I didn't put too much thought into it, but I went with 1 a for sack, 0.5 for a knockdown and 0.3 for a hurry. I also added positions (roughly accurate) so you can sort by that as well.

(not very excel savvy, couldn't figure out how to involve the multiplier unless it was part of the table... if somebody wants to go in and change that feel free. I envisioned a few cells at the top of the workbook with the multipliers, and then the formula for the totals could just reference those multipliers so you only have to edit those 3 cells rather than edit the multipliers cells and then paste them across whole table. Could only figure out how to do it manually for every row.)

JJ Watt is 2nd behind Donald since 2018!? That's the last thing I expected. I mean, I know he's still great, but I didn't think he was still that productive since his litany of injuries...

Kind of makes you wonder if he didn't have those back/core injuries to deal with back in 2016 - what would he be now?

naw man. He's running his ultimate tag league. He's retiring before he would leave Houston to do that.

"Staying in Houston" is still on top of the leaderboard, I'll admit that. He could run for Mayor here and probably win unanimously (unless Hakeem Olaijuwon or Nolan Ryan ran against him...)

Pittsburgh would be a long shot, but I'd put that over GB. Darkhorse contender would be Chicago - Kealia is still playing, so he'd probably want to be closer to her.

I think if he's moving to Chicago, it's because he's retiring. He's entering his 10th season. That's a long-enough career. I don't see him leaving Houston unless it's because he's coaching.

Retirement is Wisconsin ...or Los Angeles to start up a movie career.

John Krasinkski, Emily Blunt, Zac Efron and JJ Watt as the Fantastic 4 in the MCU? Eh?

I think it's Chicago until his wife is retired from soccer. Once she's done, it's probably NY for TV. He seems to have a blast doing the ultimate tag thing. I wonder if he could just be the goofy sports guy.

He's got inroads with Schwarzenegger and Dwayne Johnson - he might not plan on a Hollywood career, but he'll be in some action movie within the next 10 years.
