MKnight82
QB Sam Darnold wants a $151 mil contract extension. Idk whether to just trade him now, or finish the year with him, then tag and trade him.

Trade him now if you are trying to tank for a new QB, he's playing too well for you to lose.

MKnight82
TRADE DEADLINE UPDATE Ok, even with Darnold I'm 2-4 at the deadline. As I stated before, Sam Darnold wants a $151 mil contract extension, which is actually just his starting asking price so he might want even more. I'm not paying Sam Darnold that. So I guess I need to trade him. *TRADE* Steelers Receive QB S Darnold (83) NY Jets Receive 2024 1st Round Pick This is the Steelers future first round pick, as I already have a ton of draft picks for this upcoming class. The Steelers current starter is 68 OVR Nick Mullens, so this is definitely an upgrade for them. In a corresponding move: The NY Jets steal Rookie QB Sergio Hancock off of the Cardinals Practice Squad. Hancock is a 22 year old Scrambling QB with 88 TP, 78 SPD and 88 ACC. He's only 62 OVR. MKnight82
Contract Negotiations HB Jamaal Williams (80) - no offer - RBs are a dime a dozen. CB Blessuan Austin (79) - 2 year deal, $2.8 mil salary, $1.75 mil SB, $4.14 Y1 cap hit ($9.0 mil Total Contract) - He's still only 26 and this is cheap. FS Roy Poyer (70) - 3 year deal, $850k salary, $150k SB, $4.14 Y1 cap hit ($3.0 mil Total Contract) - I signed him as an UDFA this year. He's 23 and cheap. Might as well keep him around until I draft someone better. TE Randy Springs (69) - 3 year deal, $950k salary, $500k SB, $1.20 Y1 cap hit ($4.35 mil Total Contract) REJECTED - Another UDFA, I thought this was a fair offer. He will be my 3rd TE so this isn't pressing. I might take another shot at him in the offseason. CB Morgan Bartel (69) - no offer - Another UDFA, but he's already 24. There are a ton of CBs available like this all the time. He wanted $2 mil per season. MLB James Lawry (68) - 4 year deal, $650k salary, $0 SB, $420k Y1 cap hit ($2.6 mil Total Contract) - Another UDFA, 23. Man this guy should fire his agent. LE Solomon Thomas (78) - no offer - Time to move on. He wasn't even in my rotation this year after drafting so many DEs. LE Ryan Kerrigan (77) - 1 year deal, $4.2 mil salary, $2.75 mil SB, $6.90 Y1 cap hit ($6.9 mil Total Contract) - I brought him in as a mentor, might as well keep him around another year. I mean I currently have $156 mil available in cap next year so I can afford it. RG Chuma Edoga (76) - 3 year deal, $4.0 mil salary, $1.85 mil SB, $4.82 Y1 cap hit ($17.4 mil Total Contract) - Last year I would have let a guy like this leave, but it was really easy to draft Oline last year. I haven't found any good Olineman in the draft yet, so I gotta bring him back. He's only 25 so he's still progressing. LOLB Blake Cashman (76) - 2 year deal, $1.8 mil salary, $500k SB, $2.02 Y1 cap hit ($4.5 mil Total Contract) - He's a serviceable starter until I find someone better. Still 26. LG Alex Lewis (74) - 1 year deal, $3.2 mil salary, $1.10 mil SB, $4.25 Y1 cap hit ($4.25 mil Total Contract) REJECTED - He only wants 1 year deal, and who knows if I can find better in the offseason? Actually he wants more money so screw this guy. OC Connor McGovern (74) - 2 year deal, $2.8 mil salary, $1.55 mil SB, $3.94 Y1 cap hit ($8.6 mil Total Contract) - Same thought as Lewis, except he's a year younger and accepted. LOLB Franke Luvu (71) - no offer - He's an undersized pass rusher that doesn't fit my scheme. RG Greg Van Roten (67) - no offer - He's 32. RT George Fant (66) - no offer - He's 30. Flatlyner
Damn the drafts have had far less Dev players then in past years. And your correct, terrible OLine prospects.

A lot of INTs though. HB Turbin broke his arm midseason, so another injury plagued season. WRs Ferguson and Slay went nuts. Rookie TE Archer also had a great year. The Oline continues to give up a lot of sacks. No pressure from the Dline again. Rookie DE Irons led the team with 6.0 sacks, which is pathetic. Kerrigan looks done. DT Reynolds continues to disappoint. MLB Wofford had another good season.
