CUTS - FINAL 53 ROSTER - YEAR 3

I have to cut 10 players, some of those can head to the Practice Squad.

QB J Morgan (65) - CUT - I don't need 3 QBs.

HB G Hightower (67) - PS - I'm going to spend some time on upgrading my RBs in practice this year, so putting some on the PS makes sense (they will get that bonus too).

HB T Watkins (64) - PS - he's 24.

WR D Harrison (68) - PS - he's 22.

TE Jesse Matias (67) - PS - he was my last cut, just ran out of roster spaces.  He'll go to the PS.

RE J Zuniga (73) - CUT - I've replaced him with draft picks.

RE Z Watkins (67) - PS - he's 25.

DT M Floyd (65) - CUT - he's out of PS eligibility.

ROLB J Willis (73) - CUT - I've drafted replacements.

K R Shields (71) - CUT - signed a better Kicker.

Contract Negotiations

P Braden Mann (88) - 5 year deal, $2.8 mil salary, $1.05 mil SB, $2.57 Y1 cap hit ($19.0 mil Total Contract)

- He's a good punter.

CB Quincy Wilson (81) - 2 year deal, $3.5 mil salary, $2.30 mil SB, $5.30 Y1 cap hit ($11.5 mil Total Contract)

- He's going to end up getting traded eventually.  Still just 27, solid CB.

WR Denzel Mims (80) - 3 year deal, $2.2 mil salary, $1.85 mil SB, $3.47 Y1 cap hit ($12.0 mil Total Contract)

- Like Wilson he's too valuable to just let walk.

SS Ashtyn Davis (78) - no offer

- He's still 26 but I just don't see the value here.  Safeties are easy to replace.

CB Bryce Hall (78) - 5 year deal, $2.5 mil salary, $1.45 mil SB, $2.80 Y1 cap hit ($19.5 mil Total Contract)

- He's developed into a solid CB.  Still just 25.

WR Donovan Hebert (72) - no offer

- There's always a bunch of solid WRs in the draft.

LG Cameron Clark (71) - 3 year deal, $1.8 mil salary, $650k SB, $1.97 Y1 cap hit ($7.20 mil Total Contract)

- He's still only 25.  Any solid Olineman seems too valuable to let walk this year.

CB Devin Goldson (71) - no offer

- He's already 26, there's always a bunch of CBs in the draft.

QB Mitchell Trubisky (75) - no offer

- He was a 1 year stopgap.

LE Dontrell Gay (71) - 3 year deal, $1.2 mil salary, $400k SB, $1.26 Y1 cap hit ($4.65 mil Total Contract)

- Solid depth

Wow.  This is not what I was looking for.  I was actually trying to compete this year.  Only upside is that my trade down in the draft last year was with the 49ers, so I think I have the #1 and #2 overall picks in this draft.

TEAM STATS - YEAR 4 (Year to Year Improvement)

Total Offensive Yards - 31st (-15)

Passing Yards - 16th (-10)

Rushing Yards - 31st (0)

Points Per Game - 31st (-6)

Total Yards Allowed - 27th (+1)

Passing Yards Allowed - 27th (+3)

Rushing Yards Allowed - 32nd (-16)

Points Allowed - 32nd (-4)

Sacks - 22nd (+6)

INTs - 31st (-23)

Turnover Differential - 32nd at -18

Complete collapse on both sides of the ball.  Turnovers ruined my season.  I had a -18 turnover differential, so its hard to judge the defense for being so bad when the offense was turning it over so much.  Mitchell Trubisky at his finest.

4 minutes ago, THE DUKE said:

Apparently Darnold was the glue holding that team together, haha.  Hopefully you have a true franchise QB at the top of the draft, and then either a Stud LT, shutdown CB, or freak DE.

I'm actually excited to see Madden crush me for going with such a bad QB.  Last year you could start a 65 OVR QB and make the playoffs.
