LANCASTER

Lancaster Offensive Strategy: We’re back to our 3 WR setup this week against a solid Seoul defense. The scariest part of this defense is their DL so we want to focus on how to beat that unit. Early on in the game we will have a steady mix of quick passes and runs. We will do the quick passes to the short and intermediate ranges to keep Stafford protected with a somewhat weakened OL. We’re also going to be running a lot to tire out the DL. Once this opens up the passing game a bit we plan on airing it out more.

The Passing Strategy: Early on in the game we want to keep things quick to avoid pressure from the DL. We’re going to be targeting our receiving options in the short and intermediate parts of the field mostly to get the ball out of Stafford’s hands quickly. We’re also going to be having Kittle chipping pass rushers as he leaves the line. We’ll have Kamara do this also, as well as staying in to block at times. We want to neutralize this pass rush during the early parts of the game as we look to tire out the DL with our running game. As the game progresses and we have the defense playing more towards those quick passes we’ll start doing some deep shots with Evans or Johnson. Things should be opened up more by then and we feel confident our receivers can find success against this secondary.

The Running Strategy: The goal of the running game this week is to tire out the DL. As such we’re going to have a steady mix of runs up the guy where we have our big iOL smash up on their DL and runs to the edge to get them running sideline to sideline. We also want to include some counters and other misdirection runs to wear them out.

Lancaster Defensive Strategy: It’s tough to know if Goff or Murray will be starting this week as there have been a couple of changes already this season so we’re going to prepare for both as best we can. With Watkins out, there won’t be much of a receiving threat opposite him so we’re going to key in on the TEs and the running game. To help with this we’re going with three safeties this week.

The Pass Defense Strategy: We luck out a bit here with Seoul having Watkins out as that leaves his only real WR to worry about being Lockett. Jalen Ramsey will cover Lockett and Jaire Alexander will cover presumably Nelson Agholor. When three WRs are on the field Brian Poole comes in and covers the one in the slot with Alexander playing the outside guy not named Lockett. Eddie Jackson will be playing his usual deep zone. Vonn Bell will be playing up in the box and spying Kyler Murray. If Goff gets the start then Bell will be playing in the box still but watching the RB out of the backfield.

As for the TEs, we luck out again have Austin Hooper out. Travis Kelce is still a formidable opponent in his own right. We’re going be doubling him with Wagner and Rapp. Wagner will handle him in the short to intermediate with help over the top from Rapp. Rapp will handle him if he goes deep. I will admit that I’m assuming the Seoul base offense will be 2 TE this week. I would expect Gerald Everett to get the start although Cameron Brate has been above him in the depth chart recently. Either way Fred Warner will cover this second TE.

The Run Defense Strategy: We’re going to have Vonn Bell as an extra man in the box today, ready to sniff out any runs. Rapp will also be playing the more intermediate part of the field so should be in good position to stop long plays. We have extra defenders in the box to back up what I will go ahead and brag about as the top DL in the BDL. Our DL should be able to have success stopping the run with this type of backup.

Sad to see @TedLavie go, wish I could have given a W for the road, but it wasn't meant to be.  Don't be a stranger and if you ever want to get involved again, I'd be happy to have you on as a consultant.

Appreciate it. I will try to help @samsel23 as much as he wants for the time being so I don't plan on going away completely
